Definitions

  • the invention relates to a cleaning device for a printing press for cleaning a rotating outer surface of a roller or a cylinder, for example for cleaning a rubber blanket of a blanket cylinder of an offset printing machine, by means of a cleaning cloth web with web edges running perpendicular to the surface lines of the outer surface, a membrane being provided in the latter one-sided application by means of a pressurized fluid presses a section of the cleaning cloth web against the outer surface.
  • Such a cleaning device is known, for example, from FIG. 6 of patent application EP-A2 0 299 193 and the associated description.
  • a pressure chamber is provided for one-sided loading of the membrane by means of a pressurized fluid, in which a chamber wall is formed by the membrane.
  • a cleaning cloth web runs between the outer surface of a rubber blanket stretched on a blanket cylinder of an offset printing press and a surface of the membrane facing the outer surface.
  • the width of the cleaning cloth web is chosen to be somewhat larger than the useful width that can be achieved with the offset printing machine. This measure creates a first prerequisite for the outer surface being able to be cleaned in an area which is somewhat wider than the useful width, so that cleaning across the entire useful width is actually possible.
  • the cleaning cloth web must also be pressed against the lateral surface over a width such that the pressed-on area of the cleaning cloth web is somewhat wider than the useful width.
  • the membrane In order to ensure a certain minimum value of a pressing force of the cleaning cloth web on the outer surface over the entire useful width, the membrane must be bulged by means of the pressurized fluid in such a way that the membrane also exerts a pressing force on the edges of the cleaning cloth web which has a certain minimum value .
  • this can only be achieved with sufficient certainty that the extension of the membrane in the direction transverse to the cleaning cloth web extends beyond the width of the cleaning cloth web.
  • the membrane presses against the outer surface with a certain force. The membrane may be damaged at its end areas.
  • the invention is based on the object of enabling an inexpensive and low-wear operation of a generic cleaning device.
  • the one-sided means of a pressurized fluid membrane does not come into contact with the jacket surface at any point.
  • the raised surface area of the membrane is dimensioned and arranged so that it extends in a direction transverse to the cleaning cloth web between the web edges of the cleaning cloth web and has a slightly smaller width than the cleaning cloth web.
  • Surface areas of the membrane which are offset by the step and lie outside the width of the raised surface area then do not come into contact with the cleaning cloth web, let alone with the outer surface. This prevents damage that can occur due to friction between the membrane and the rotating surface.
  • An embodiment according to the invention is characterized in that the membrane on both sides and beyond the step has at least essentially the same wall thickness.
  • a necessary installation space for the cleaning device, which extends in the transverse direction to the cleaning cloth web, is therefore not significantly larger than the width of the cleaning cloth web, so that space-saving installation is possible.
  • the favorable installation conditions are due to the deformation behavior of the membrane in its end areas, which allow greater curvatures thanks to the smaller wall thickness.
  • the membranes used for the cleaning devices mentioned at the outset usually have an elongated shape, the longitudinal extent being dependent on the width of use already mentioned. If a corresponding pressure chamber is now closed by means of such a membrane and a fluid under pressure is introduced into the pressure chamber, this results in known membranes (as for example in Fig. 6 of patent application EP-A2 0 299 193) in successive imaginary cuts in the longitudinal direction vertical planes, especially in the vicinity of the narrow sides of the membrane, have relatively large differences in the contour of the membrane surface facing the cleaning cloth web. When using such membranes in a generic cleaning device, this results in a difficult to predict of several factors (such as pressure of the fluid, even under the conditions of the same geometry and the same installation conditions).
  • the step delimiting the raised first surface area has first and second body edges, the first body edges running parallel to the web edges of the cleaning cloth web and delimiting a central area of maximum longitudinal extent of the raised first surface area and the second body edges delimit adjacent edge areas of the raised first surface area on both sides of the central area of the raised first surface area and extend such that the longitudinal extent in the edge areas decreases with increasing distance from the central area.
  • the measure proposed in this way for shaping the edge regions adjoining the central region of the raised first surface region has a favorable effect in this regard on keeping the membrane from deforming under the pressure of the Fluids out, as hereby the above-mentioned differences in the contour of the membrane surface facing the cleaning cloth web in successive imaginary cuts in planes perpendicular to the longitudinal extension of the membrane within the area of the membrane forming the raised first surface area in the direction of the first laterally delimiting the raised first surface area
  • avoid body edges It can thus be achieved that the section of the cleaning cloth web pressed against the lateral surface tapers at most insignificantly as seen towards the web edges of the cleaning cloth web.
  • An optimal course of the second body edges can be determined, for example, by tests, wherein different outlines of edge regions of the raised first surface region can be achieved, for example, by correspondingly removing material forming the membrane. The removal can take place, for example, by grinding.
  • a lateral surface 1 for example a blanket cylinder of an offset printing machine
  • a generic cleaning device 2 on the other hand.
  • the latter is also only shown: a frame part 3 of a pair of frames, a cleaning cloth web 4, a coil 5 accommodating the cleaning cloth web 4 with a coil core 6, which is carried by a frame part 3 of the pair of frames, a membrane 7, which is between them itself and a tensioning rail 8 forms a pressure chamber 9, a profiled cross member 10 carried by a frame part 3, in which two opposite edges of the membrane 7 are clamped between respective sealing surfaces of the cross member 10 on the one hand and the tensioning rail 9 on the other hand, and a tensioning screw 11 for sealingly clamping the edges of the membrane 7 mentioned.
  • the membrane 7, the tensioning rail 8 and the cross member 10 each have an elongated shape, of which a cross section can be seen in the illustration shown.
  • the membrane 7 is also narrow Sides such as shown in FIG. 4 sealingly connected to a respective end face of the clamping rail 8.
  • a respective end of the membrane 7 is clamped between a corresponding end face of the tensioning rail 8 and a pressure plate 11.
  • the cleaning cloth web 4 is passed between the outer surface 1 and a surface of the membrane 7 facing it.
  • the membrane 7 is pressurized on one side by means of a pressurized fluid and presses a section of the cleaning cloth web 4 against the outer surface 1.
  • the pressurized fluid is introduced into the pressure chamber 9 through a pressure line 12 and a screw connection 13 screwed into an inlet bore of the tensioning rail 8.
  • a membrane 7 according to the invention made of rubber-elastic material is shown detached from the cleaning device described above in an appropriate position in relation to the cleaning cloth web 4 to the cleaning cloth web 4 shown in broken lines. In this illustration, the cleaning cloth web 4 runs above the membrane 7.
  • the surface of the membrane 7 facing the cleaning cloth web 4 has a raised first surface region, designated overall by 16, which can be contacted with the latter, at least in the event of a bulging of the membrane 7 in the direction of the cleaning cloth web 4, and second surface regions 18.1 and 18.2, which are formed by means of a recessed step 17 are offset from the first surface area 16.
  • the sublime first Surface area 16 extends between first body edges 19.1 and 19.2 formed by means of step 17 and parallel to web edges 14 and 15 over a length which is somewhat greater than the useful width mentioned at the outset.
  • the web edges 14 and 15 of the cleaning cloth web 4 protrude by a respective distance 20 beyond the stated length of the raised first surface area 16.
  • the membrane 7 is pressed against the outer surface 1 with a corresponding bulge under the pressure of a fluid introduced into the pressure chamber 9 to a cleaning width 4 defined by the first body edges 19.1 and 19.2.
  • the second surface areas 18.1 and 18.2 which are offset by the step 17 do not come into contact with the lateral surface 1.
  • they have the effect that a curvature of the raised first surface area 16 in the longitudinal direction of the elongated membrane 7 resulting from the bulging of the membrane 7 under the pressure of the fluid is also reduced to extremely small values in the vicinity of the first body edges 19.1 and 19.2. This results in a curvature of the membrane 7 caused by the pressure of the fluid in its longitudinal direction mainly in the areas of the membrane 7 forming the stepped surface areas 18.1 and 18.2.
  • a respective first body edge 19.1 and 19.2 formed by the step 17 represents a respective lateral boundary of a central region 16.1 of the raised first surface region 16, while a respective end of a respective first body edge 19.1 and 19.2 a second body edge 19.1 ', 19.1 ⁇ and 19.2', 19.2 ⁇ connects.
  • the second body edges 19.1 'and 19.2' form a lateral boundary of a first edge region 16.2 and the second body edges 19.1 ⁇ and 19.2 ⁇ a lateral boundary of a second edge area 16.3 of the raised first surface area 16, the first edge area 16.2 and the second edge area 16.3 each adjoining the middle area 16.1.
  • a respective edge area 16.2 and 16.3 is increasingly narrower than the cleaning cloth web 4 with increasing distance from the central area 16.1.
  • the second body edges 19.1 ', 19.1 ⁇ , 19.2', 19.2 ⁇ do not need to be straight as shown in the drawing.
  • An angle ⁇ enclosed between a first body edge 19.1 or 19.2 and a second body edge 19.1 ', 19.1 ⁇ or 19.2', 19.2 ⁇ can also be adapted to the respective requirements. In extreme cases it can be provided that the raised first surface area has a step 17 all around.
  • 4 and 5 are, as mentioned, partial sections perpendicular to a tangential plane on the lateral surface 1, an operating state being shown in each case by the cleaning cloth web 4 by means of the membrane 7 (FIG. 4) and 7 '(FIG. 5) to the Shell surface 1 is pressed.
  • 4 provided membrane 7 made of rubber-elastic material, the stage 17 is formed while maintaining a substantially uniform wall thickness of the membrane 7 in an area of the membrane 7 facing the cleaning cloth 4, while in such a membrane 7 'according to FIG stepped surface areas 18.1, 18.2 (18.2 not shown here) forming areas of the membrane 7 'have a smaller wall thickness by the height of the step 17 have as a region of the membrane 7 'forming the raised first surface region 16'.
