Definitions

  • the invention relates to a clamp element for a weft insertion element of a rapier weaving machine according to the preamble of claim 1; it also relates to bringer and holer grippers with such clamp elements and weaving machines with such grippers.
  • a clamp has at least two elements, for example two clamping jaws, which form a clamping gap, which is used to hold the thread.
  • the two clamp elements are pressed together under the action of a spring force.
  • this spring force we can differentiate between two types of clamps. To open the clamp under the action of force, at least one of the two clamp elements moves in the direction of the force in the first type.
  • the forces are deflected via a lever mechanism so that, for example, the opening movement of a clamp element is directed against the direction of the force.
  • Which type of clamp is chosen with advantage depends on various factors in connection with the specially selected construction of the entry element.
  • the bringer grippers mainly come with clamps of the first type (CH-PS 592761, DE-A-2947399); both Holer grippers, clamps of the second type are preferably used (DE-A-3033201).
  • Entry organs of rapier weaving machines are associated with many problems, two of which we would like to mention:
  • the rapiers should be as low in mass as possible in order to achieve high accelerations.
  • the design should be such that removal of fiber fly that impairs functionality is well practicable.
  • These two problems are particularly important in the case of entry organs with clamps of the second type. Because the force redirection for opening the clamp has led to constructions which are characterized by articulated, spring-loaded lever mechanisms and which are therefore massive and susceptible to contamination. The invention is intended to remedy this.
  • a clamp of the second type can be produced together with a second clamp element, which clamp can be made lighter in mass and also easier to clean due to a smaller number of individual parts.
  • the pressing part of the clamp element according to the invention is accessible for the application of force on the side of the entry element or on its upper side. Cleaning can be done regularly when the grippers are in the retracted positions outside the shed. Pressing on the pressing part exposes stuck fibers in the clamping gap; they can then be removed using blowing or suction nozzles.
  • the dependent claims 2 to 4 relate to advantageous embodiments of the invention Terminal element.
  • Claims 5 to 9 relate to a weft thread clamp with the clamp element according to the invention and to entry elements which have such clamps.
  • the subject of independent claim 10 is a rapier weaving machine, the weft insertion elements of which are equipped with the clamping element according to the invention.
  • the clamp element 1 has a fork shape.
  • the fork handle is the clamping tongue 2, which forms one side of the clamping gap.
  • the legs of the fork namely the pressing part 3 and the fastening part 4, start at the base 5 on the clamping tongue 2.
  • An elastically bendable region 6 lies between the base 5 of the fork and the fastening points.
  • the fastening points are two elongated holes 7a and 7b.
  • Fig.1b shows how the fork-shaped clamp element 1 is installed in a bringer gripper head 10 (with the upper part cut away). With the two screws 8a, 8b and the part 9, the terminal element 1 is attached to the base 11, on which the entry belt 12 can also be attached.
  • the second clamping element is the clamping plate 13, which is fastened to the housing of the gripper head 10 with the screws 14 and 15.
  • Figure 1a the position of the clamping plate 13 'is indicated by dashed lines and also that of the weft thread 30', which is held in the clamping gap.
  • the pressing part 3 emerges from the housing and can thus be subjected to a force F (arrows in FIGS. 1a, 1b).
  • This action of force results in a pair of forces acting on the legs of the clamping element 1, which exerts a bending torque on the region 6.
  • the clamp is thus opened.
  • the force F also causes an elastic deformation of the pressing part 3, but this has no influence on the deflection of the clamp tongue 2. It is therefore advantageous to give the bending area 6 of the fastening part 4 such dimensions that the force F mainly acts there. In order to meet this requirement, one chooses a cross-section for the region 6 that is smaller, for example half smaller than the cross-section of the pressing part. It is also advantageous to choose a relatively large pressing part in order to obtain a low surface pressure when opening the clamp thanks to the large pressure area.
  • the spring characteristic of the area 6 depends on the effective length over which the area 6 can be bent. This effective length can be changed if
  • the mounting holes 7a, 7b are formed as elongated holes, as shown in Fig.1a. If the fastening means consisting of the screws 8a, 8b and the part 9 is moved further against the base 5 of the fork, the effective length of the region 6 is reduced and the spring constant is increased.
  • threads can also be provided in the fastening part 4; the displaceability can be achieved in this case through elongated holes in the base 11.
  • Other fastening options are also conceivable: for example sandwich-like clamping between base 11 and a clamping body corresponding to part 9.
  • the clamping tongue 2 In order to avoid thread loosening of the carrier gripper, the clamping tongue 2 must press against the clamping plate 13 in the pretensioned state.
  • the clamping strength generated in this way can be made adjustable if the fastening position of the clamping plate 13 can be changed, as is indicated, for example, in FIG. 1b: thanks to an elongated hole in the screw 15, the clamping plate 13 can be pivoted to a limited extent about the axis of the screw 14.
  • Another setting option is provided by means of an eccentric bolt which takes the place of the screw 15 (with a corresponding adaptation of the assigned hole in the clamping plate 13).
  • the clamp element 1 according to the invention can also be used very well for the clamp of a holer gripper, as shown in FIG.
  • the remaining components of the holer gripper are the holer tip 20, the gripper fastening part 21 and the entry belt 22.
  • the rigid hook 23 forms the second clamping element of the clamp for the weft thread 30.
  • the opening 26 for the pressing part 3 enables a compact connection between the holer tip 20 and the fork-shaped clamp element 1.
  • the statements made above for the bringer gripper with regard to the clamp element 1 also apply to the holer gripper.
  • the rear part 29 of the Holerspitze 20 takes over the fastening function of the part 9 in the bringer gripper.
  • the weft thread clamps are opened outside the compartment for cleaning purposes.
  • the clamps must also be able to be opened in order to be able to release the weft thread.
  • the thread is released from the holer gripper with an auxiliary device after the weft insertion. Or when transferring the thread from the rapier to the rapier, the clamps are operated with levers that are swung into the compartment between the warp threads.
