Description

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Splitterhülle für Munition nach dem Oberbegriff des Anspruchs 1.
Aus der FR-A 2 617 655 ist eine Splitterhülle bekannt. Diese besteht aus einer metallischen Außenhülle und aus einer ringförmigen Splitteranordnung. Die Außenhülle ist entsprechend eines hydraulischen Pressverfahrens plattiert. Bei Detonation einer Sprengladung werden aus der Außenhülle Splitter erzeugt, die etwa der Außenkontur der Einzelsplitter entsprechen.
Der Gebrauch von Klebstoff zum Ausfüllen von Hohlräumen zwischen Splittern einer Splitterhülle ist aus der US-A 3 298 308 bekannt. In den Bogenabschnitten einer Splitterhülle sind zwickelförmige Hohlräume zwischen kubischen Splittern mit einem Klebstoff ausgefüllt. Eine Aussage bezüglich der Dichte des Klebstoffs zur besseren Übertragung der Energie der Sprengstoffdetonation ist nicht entnehmbar.
Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, bei einer Splitterhülle Maßnahmen vorzusehen, die bei Detonation des Sprengstoffs zu weitgehend definierten Splittergrößen führt.
Die Erfindung löst die Aufgabe entsprechend den kennzeichnenden Merkmalen des Anspruches 1. Vorteilhafte Weiterbildungen der Erfindung sind den Unteransprüchen zu entnehmen.
Ein Ausführungsbeispiel der Erfindung ist in der Zeichnung dargestellt. Es zeigt:

Ein Geschoßhülle 1 zeigt in ihrer Innenwand 2 plattenförmige, scharfkantige Splitter 3 aus Schwermetall oder aus hochfestem Stahl. Die Splitter 3 sind durch ein Preßverfahren in die Innenwand 2 eingeformt. Dadurch unterliegt die Geschoßhülle 1 - ausgehend von den Kanten 4 - Spannungszonen 5.
Bei Detonation einer Sprengladung 6, die in der Geschoßhülle 1 angeordnet ist, bricht die Geschoßhülle 1 bevorzugt in den Spannungszonen 5 und bildet geometrisch definierte Splitter.
Neben diesen definierten Splittern wird noch der Vorteil erreicht, daß durch die Spannungszonen 5 die Umformung der Geschoßhülle 1 in Splitter rascher erfolgt und weniger Energie zur Splitterzerlegung aus der Geschoßhülle 1 benötigt wird.
Ein Kleber 7 dient als zusätzliches Befestigungsmittel für die Splitter 3 untereinander und für die Splitter 3 zur Befestigung an der Geschoßhülle 1. An sich reicht für die Befestigung der Splitter 3 an der Geschoßhülle 1 die Einprägung.
Der Kleber 7 dient auch zur Steigerung der Splittergeschwindigkeit, in dem die Hohlräume 9, 9.1, 9.2 durch den Kleber 7 ausgefüllt sind. Ein energieaufzehrender Verformung der Splitter 3 durch den Sprengdruck in die Hohlräume 9, 9.1, 9.2 hinein wird dadurch weitgehend vermieden.
Die Splitter 3 nach Fig. 2 sind entweder Einzelsplitter, an ihrer Außenseite 13 vorgekerbte Splitterringe oder an ihrer Außenseite 13 vorgekerbte Splitterwendeln 11.
Das Einbettungsmaterial für die Splitter 3 bzw. Splitterringe 10 bzw. Splitterwendel 11, das als Kleber 7 bezeichnet ist, entspricht oder entspricht weitgehend der Dichte und Festigkeit der Splitter 3 bzw. der Splitterringe 10 bzw. der Splitterwendel 11. Damit weist das Einbettungsmaterial oder Füllmaterial dieselbe Stoßwelleninpedanz, wie die Splitter 3 auf. Dies wird durch ein Einbettungsmaterial aus Hartmetall, gegebenfalls mit einem Binderanteil oder durch Zugabe eines Metallanteils in einen Binder erreicht. Jede dieser Maßnahmen bewirkt eine günstige Übertragung der Detonationsenergie in kinetische Energie der Splitter 3.
Die Hohlräume 9, 9.1, 9.2 zwischen den Splittern3 untereinander bzw. zwischen den Splittern 3, den Splitterringen 10, der Splitterwendel 11 gegenüber dem Splitterhemd 8 bzw. der Splitterhülle 1 sind mit dem Kleber 7 bzw. einem Einbettungsmaterial, wie vorbeschrieben ausgefüllt. Eine energieaufzehrende Verformung der Splitter 3 bzw. der nicht weiter dargestellten Splitter der vorgekerbten Splitterringe 10 bzw. der Splitterwendel 11 in die Hohlräume 9, 9.1, 9.2 hinein wird dadurch weitgehend vermieden. Damit wird eine erhebliche Steigerung der Splittergeschwindigkeit erreicht.
Als weitere Sicherung für die einzelnen Splitter 3 an der Geschoßhülle 1 und zur besseren Übertragung der Detonationsenergie dient ein sogenanntes, als dünner Zylinder aus Aluminium oder Stahl bestehendes Splitterhemd 8.
Bei harten Splittern 3, die also härter sind als die Geschoßhülle 1 liegt aufgrund des Preßverfahrens bzw. Kalibrierverfahrens eine Vorkerbung, also eine partielle Verformung im Kantenbereich der Geschoßhülle 1 vor.
Bei gleichharten Splittern 3, deren Härte also der Härte der Geschoßhülle 1 entspricht, entstehen, auf die Kanten 4 bezogene erhöhte Spannungen 5 in der Geschoßhülle 1.
Bei Splittern 3, die weicher sind als die Geschoßhülle 1, erfolgt beim Kalibrieren eine Abplattung der Kanten 4 sowie eine Anpassung der Kanten 4 an den Radius der Innenwand 2 der Geschoßhülle 1. Dementsprechend liegen bei Auftreten des Sprengdrucks aufgrund des spezifisch kleineren Flächendrucks an den Kanten 4 auch Spannungszonen 5 mit etwas kleineren Spannungen vor.
Nach den Fig. 3 und 4 weist ein Splitterring 10 bzw. eine Splitterwendel 11 an ihrer, der Sprengladung zugewandten Innenseite 6 gemäß Fig. 5 Kerben 12 auf, die die Zerlegung der zu einem Paket zusammengestellten Splitterringe 10 bzw. der Splitterwendel 11 zu Einzelsplittern begünstigen.
Die scharfkantig ausgebildeten Splitterringe 10 bzw. die Splitterwendel 11 werden nach ihrem Einbringen in die Geschoßhülle 1 kalibriert, so daß nach dem Kalibrieren in der Geschoßhülle 1 ringförmige Spannungszonen 5 entstehen und/oder durch den Sprengdruck in der Geschoßhülle 1 bewirkt werden.

Claims (7)

  1. Splitterhülle (1) fiir Munition, wie Geschosse, Gefechtsköpfe, Handgranaten mit sprengstoffbeschleunigten Splittern (3), die an der Innenwand (2) der Splitterhülle (1) aus Metall anliegen,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Kanten (4) der scharfkantig ausgebildeten Splitter (3), Splitterringe (10), oder Splitterwendel (11) in der Splitterhülle (1) aus Stahl durch ein Pressverfahren eingeformt sind oder mindestens linienförmig unter Vorspannung an der Splitterhülle (1) anliegen.
  2. Splitterhülle nach Anspruch 1,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die vorgefertigten Splitter (3) zusätzlich durch einen Klebstoff (7) untereinander und mit der Hülle (1) verbunden sind.
  3. Splitterhülle nach Anspruch 2,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Kleber (7) für die Splitter (3), Splitterringe (10), Splitterwendel (11) eine Dichte und Festigkeit der Splitter (3), der Splitterringe (10), der Splitterwendel (11) aufweist.
  4. Splitterhülle nach Anspruch 3,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Kleber (7) für die Splitter (3), Splitterringe (10), Splitterwendel (11) aus Hartmetall mit Binder, Metallanteil, wie Späne im Binder oder Schwermetallanteile im Binder besteht.
  5. Splitterhülle nach Anspruch 1,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Härt der Splitter (3), Splitterringe (10), Splitterwendel (11) härter ist, als die Härt der Splitterhülle (1)
  6. Splitterhülle nach Anspruch 1,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Härte der Splitter (3), Splitterringe (10), Splitterwendel (11) der Härte der Splitterhülle (1) entspricht.
  7. Splitterhülle nach Anspruch 1,
    dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Splitterhülle (1) härter ist als die Splitter (3), Splitterringe (10), Splitterwendel (11).
