Definitions
- the present invention relates to a person barrier for a passage control device according to the preamble of claim 1 and to a passage control device with such a person barrier.
- a pedestrian barrier of the present type therefore comprises a locking element and an actuating element, wherein the locking element is attached to the actuating element and the actuating element can pivot the locking element between a locked position and a passage position.
- This is a pedestrian barrier whose locking element is pivotable about a vertical axis of rotation.
- a pedestrian access control device of the present type includes at least one such pedestrian barrier, which is arranged at the beginning, within its length, and/or at the end of a corridor formed by right and left side boundaries.
- a pedestrian barrier in such a pedestrian access control device comprises two locking elements, each with its own actuating element.
- the actuating elements are arranged on both sides of the side boundaries, and in their locked position, the locking elements each block only approximately half the width of the corridor. This reduces the bearing forces when pivoting the locking element and minimizes the counter-torque against the pivoting movement, which increases with distance from the axis of rotation due to leverage. This counter-torque results primarily from air resistance.
- the lower moments of inertia of such a two-leaf pedestrian barrier are also advantageous. Nevertheless, The present invention also applies to pedestrian barriers with only one pivotable locking element.
- Access control devices of this type are found in many applications where specially secured areas need to be accessible to people, but this access must be controlled.
- One function of the access control device is to individually identify and control the people who wish to enter a protected or regulated area through the access control corridor. This function is often paramount at concerts and sporting events, at supermarket checkout terminals, and also when exiting highly secure areas such as airport gates.
- Another important function of such an access control device is for protected areas that may only be entered with specific authorization.
- This specific authorization can be an admission ticket, a membership card, a passport, or, in airports, a boarding pass; it can also involve biometric data that allows for the unambiguous identification of an authorized person.
- access control devices of the present type Such specific authorizations are checked at access control devices of the present type, particularly with reading devices, and depending on the test result, the personnel barrier or its locking element is pivoted from the blocked position to the passage position or left in the blocked position.
- access control devices of the present type are equipped with two successively arranged personnel barriers, a first at the entrance to the corridor and a second at the end of the corridor, to form a personnel airlock.
- Such an airlock is also within the scope of the present invention.
- Access control devices of this type are, for example, from the WO 2010/078856 A1 known.
- the document GB 2305204 A discloses a passage control device with a corridor in which, in the direction of passage, a turnstile for singulating persons and a locking element are arranged and rotatably mounted about an axis.
- the locking element is arranged at a distance from the turnstile and rotatably mounted about an axis.
- this document discloses that the locking element is attached to the upper part of the shaft forming the axis of rotation by means of pins, screws, or bolts. Additionally, the locking element is attached at its lower end to a rotating plate by means of fasteners.
- the document US 2013/0120108 A1 discloses an access control device in which a pivoting wing of the device opens upon detection of an RFID ticket. Photodetectors are also integrated into the pivoting wings, ensuring that only one person can pass through the device at a time. The document further reveals that the locking element is attached to a shaft via a quarter-circle lever and a crank mechanism.
- the document FR 2581120 A1 discloses a mechanism for moving an element about an axis with a lever arm on which the motor unit is arranged, with three joints and with at least two connecting rods which are suspended at the second and third joints and connected to the element via a bearing.
- the components necessary for operating such a passage control device must also be located within the side boundaries; often, these components are integrated into the side boundaries. If such a functional component is located within the pivot range of the locking element of a pedestrian barrier or passage control device of this type, then this locking element either cannot be fully pivoted into the passage position, i.e., at a right angle to the locking position, or the actuating element of the pedestrian barrier, to which the locking element is attached, must be positioned further into the corridor so that the locking element can be fully pivoted into the passage position.
- a pedestrian barrier comprising a locking element and an actuating element, wherein the locking element is attached to the actuating element and can be pivoted by means of the actuating element about a vertical axis of rotation between a locking position and a passage position, further developed such that the locking element, viewed in a vertical projection, is essentially straight and defines a vertical plane, here referred to as the locking plane, with this line on the horizontal projection surface.
- This locking plane is spaced apart from the vertical axis of rotation, i.e., it does not include it. Since both the axis of rotation and the locking plane are vertical, a parallelism results. This parallelism need not be mathematically precise within the scope of the present invention; rather, an approximate parallelism is sufficient, in which the axis of rotation and the locking plane do not intersect in the area of the pedestrian barrier or the passage control device.
- This mounting of the locking element on the actuating element allows the actuating element to be positioned very close to a side boundary of the corresponding passage control device, even if necessary or advantageous components for operation, such as functional modules, or a handrail of the passage control device are located within the pivot range of the locking element. Because the locking plane is spaced away from the axis of rotation, the locking element can be attached to the actuating element in such a way that, in the passage position, the locking plane is spaced away from the axis of rotation in the direction of the corridor center. This allows the locking element to be fully opened, i.e., pivoted approximately 90° relative to the locking position, without any obstruction extending beyond the side boundary. to avoid bumping into a functional module or a handrail, etc.
- actuating element itself does not need to project beyond the fully opened locking element towards the center of the corridor, or at least only requires a smaller projection than before, so that the problems outlined at the beginning regarding a restriction of the passage width, especially with opposing actuating elements, are eliminated.
- the present invention is based on the objective of avoiding the problems outlined above and of proposing a pedestrian barrier of the type described above, as well as a passage control device with such a pedestrian barrier, which is simpler in design.
- a pedestrian barrier according to the invention is composed of two parts attached to each other, the locking element and the actuating element, it can be assembled in such a way that the pedestrian barrier can be pivoted in either of the two directions of rotation about the vertical axis of rotation, thereby achieving the advantages of the invention.
- the separation of the vertical locking plane from the vertical axis of rotation according to the invention offers advantages because the locking element is attached eccentrically to the actuating element with respect to the axis of rotation.
- the drive for the actuating element which expediently has a shaft arranged in the vertical axis of rotation, and the attachment of the locking element are spaced apart from each other.
- the attachment of the locking element to the actuating element can be loosened without disconnecting the drive train. to have to probe with the shaft running in the vertical axis of rotation.
- the locking element of the pedestrian barrier according to the invention has a planar shape, and is in particular essentially designed as a panel, which can be made of transparent material in the form of a disc.
- Such locking elements are commonly used, especially for access control of security-relevant areas, such as in airports, because they cannot be climbed under or over.
- a panel-shaped locking element is particularly easy to attach to the actuating element if a flat mounting surface is provided there for this purpose.
- the actuating element is designed as a vertically oriented column, and advantageously, this column is composed of a fixed base part and a rotating retaining part.
- the locking element is attached to the latter, while the base part, which offers particular advantages, houses a drive device for pivoting the retaining part, and thus also the locking element.
- a drive device can include a shaft running along the vertical axis of rotation, on which the retaining part sits, so that it rotates with the rotation of the shaft. Due to the eccentric mounting of the locking element on the retaining part, the connection between the retaining part and the shaft of the drive device does not need to be disconnected when the locking element is to be removed for replacement or repositioning.
- the pedestrian barrier according to the invention allows the locking element to extend vertically, as desired for safety reasons, substantially over at least the entire vertical dimension of the actuating element, even if this results in strips, handrails, or functional modules extending into the "normal" pivoting range of the locking element. It is understood that the locking element can also extend far beyond the vertical dimension of the actuating element, particularly upwards.
- the access control device comprises the pedestrian barrier according to the invention, optionally with preferred embodiments, as well as right and left side boundaries to form a corridor, wherein at least one pedestrian barrier according to the invention is arranged on at least one side boundary.
- the at least one pedestrian barrier consists of two opposing actuating elements, each carrying a locking element which, in the locked position, extend only to approximately the middle of the corridor. This creates a passage gate with two pivoting leaves, which is preferred due to the advantageously small area swept by each pivoting leaf when pivoting.
- the access control device preferably has at least one functional module that is arranged on a side boundary or, in particular, integrated into it.
- This functional module which can be, for example, a control cabinet or an access authorization recognition device, is arranged within the pivot range of the locking element or, due to the inventive spacing of the locking plane from the vertical axis of rotation, can be arranged there without affecting the pivot range of the locking element.
- This increases the flexibility of the arrangement of the individual modules or assemblies of an access control device and, in particular, saves valuable floor space, which an access control device requires not only in width but also in length along the corridor.
- the pedestrian barrier or a pedestrian barrier according to the invention is arranged at the beginning of the corridor of the access control device. This allows the actuating elements to be almost completely removed from the corridor, so that they do not adversely reduce its width, especially when two opposing actuating elements are used. The same effect is achieved if the actuating elements of further pedestrian barriers are integrated into the side boundaries of the access control device.
- FIG. 1 2 and 3
- a similar example of an access control device designed according to the invention is shown in three different views.
- a corridor 1 which is in Figure 1 Entering from the left, there are two side barriers 2 between which the persons to be checked are guided.
- a personnel barrier 3 shown here in the locked position, blocks corridor 1 and can release it if necessary.
- a reader located in front of corridor 1, checks the access authorization, for example, a boarding pass for an aircraft, and, if the check is successful, generates a signal that pivots the personnel barrier 3 into a passage position (the passage position is shown in the Figure 1 (Personal barrier 3 shown above is indicated by broken lines).
- a functional module 4 in this case a control cabinet, is integrated into the left side boundary 2.
- This control cabinet supplies electrical energy to both a drive (not shown) for the personnel barrier and a recognition module 6, the latter being used to recognize biometric data, such as that often collected upon entry at the airport.
- Each handrail 5 closes off the side boundaries 2 at the top, which Figure 2 best illustrated.
- the pedestrian barrier 3 consists of two mirror-image partial barriers, each comprising a column-like actuating element 8 and a locking element 7 designed as a disc.
- the actuating elements 8 are integrated approximately halfway into the side boundaries 2, thus only minimally narrowing the corridor 1.
- the locking elements 7 In the locked position, the locking elements 7 extend only almost to the middle of the corridor 1 to prevent persons being checked from, for example, trapping their hands if the pedestrian barrier 3 were to close unexpectedly.
- a gap is provided between the locking elements 7 and the actuating elements 8, except at the point where the locking element 7 is attached to the actuating element 8, to prevent entrapment.
- Functional module 4 designed as a control cabinet, is located as shown in the Figure 1 and 2 It can be seen that in its upper area towards corridor 1 it extends beyond the side boundary 2, so that a locking element 7, which as usual would be attached in a pivot axis 11 of the pedestrian barrier 3, would possibly collide with the functional module 4 in the passage position; at least then the required distance of 25 mm according to the standard, in this case 26 mm, to protect against crushing of fingers would no longer be guaranteed.
- a vertical locking plane 12 defined by the locking element 7 is spaced apart from the also vertically extending axis of rotation 11 – in the present example, the locking element 7 is eccentrically attached to the actuating element 8 – the locking element 7, as shown in Figure 1 indicated by broken lines, despite the extensive integration of the actuating element 8 into the side boundary 2, the distance to the functional module 4 prescribed for pinch protection is maintained even when it is pivoted into the (indicated by broken lines) passage position.
- the functional module 4 sits on a rail 15 of the side boundary 2 and is connected to the handrail 5, which may contain signal lines, by means of a cable duct 16.
- the locking element 7 can be pivoted about the axis of rotation 11, starting from the locking position, by approximately 90° in both directions.
- the actuating element 8 essentially consists of two parts: a base part 9 and a retaining part 10.
- the base part 9 is fixed to the side boundaries 2, while the retaining part 10 can rotate on the base part 9 about the axis of rotation 11.
- a drive device for rotating the retaining part 10 can be arranged inside the base part 9 (not shown here).
- the retaining part 10 has a mounting surface 13, eccentrically positioned or spaced apart from the axis of rotation 11, against which the locking element 7, designed as a disc, can be placed and to which the locking element 7 can be attached by means of a mounting cover 14.
- the locking element can be used in different orientations by simply rotating the mounting cover about a horizontal axis; thus, identical parts (base part 9, retaining part 10, mounting cover 14, and locking element 7) can be used to form both sides of the double-leaf pedestrian barrier.
- the locking plane 12, defined by the mounting surface 13 or by the straight line of the locking element 7, is indicated by dashed arrows. Both the locking plane 12 and the axis of rotation 11 are vertically oriented, i.e., approximately parallel to each other, and are spaced apart by a distance S.
- the actuating element 8 can be largely rigid (height h1), while the rotatable retaining part 10 extends only over a small height h2, thus minimizing the extent of the moving parts. This not only minimizes the risk of accidents, but also The adjustment, assembly, and disassembly of the locking element 7 should also be kept particularly simple.
- the actuating elements 8 of the pedestrian barrier 8 can be advantageously integrated far into the side boundaries 2, while the locking elements 7 in the passage position are still sufficiently far apart from the side boundaries 2 and, in particular, from the functional module 4. As a result, there is a sufficient width of the corridor 1 between the two actuating elements 8 without having to further separate the side boundaries 2. This saves valuable installation space.
