PROCEDIMIENTO DE CONDENSACION DE VAPORES DE ACIDO SULFURICO PARA LA PRODUCCION DE ESTE ACIDO. CUANDO SE CONDENSA ACIDO SULFURICO DE GASES QUE CONTIENEN VAPOR DE DICHO ACIDO Y VAPOR DE AGUA EN EXCESO, PROCEDENTES POR EJMPLO DE UNA ESTACION GENERADORA DE ELECTRICIDAD, SE OBTIENE UNA SUSTANCIAL DISMINUCION DE LA CANTIDAD DE DIMINUTAS GOTAS DE ACIDO SULFURICO (LA DENOMINADA NIEBLA ACIDA) QUE ESCAPAN AL MEDIO CIRCUNDANTE, INCLUSO EN LOS CASOS EN QUE LA PLANTA DE ACIDO SULFURICO ESTA EQUIPADA CON UN FILTRO DE AEROSOLES, SI SE INCORPORAN DIMINUTOS CENTROS DE NUCLEACION EN EL GAS EN UNA CANTIDAD DE 109 A 1012 PARTICULAS SOLIDAS POR NM3 POR 0,1% DE VAPOR DE SO4H2 PRESENTE EN EL GAS. LOS CENTROS DE NUCLEACION PUEDEN GENERARSE, POR EJEMPLO, MEDIANTE QUEMADO DE HIDROCARBUROS CON MAS DE DOS ATOMOS DE CARBONO O SILICONAS, O BIEN AÑADIRSE COMO HUMO PROCEDENTE DE UN ARCO O SOLDADURA ELECTRICOS.
