Abstract

Un procedimiento para la preparación de un ácido cinámico por hidrólisis de un éster cinámico representado por la siguiente fórmula: **fórmula** (en la cual: Ar es un anillo de benceno substituido opcionalmente; R2 y R3 pueden ser el mismo o diferentes grupos y representan, respectivamente, hidrógeno o un grupo alquilo de 1 a 6 átomos de carbono; y R4 representa un grupo alquilo substituido o no) con un álcali en un sistema líquido heterogéneo en fase binaria utilizando agua como solvente para obtener una solución acuosa alcalina de un cinamato alcalino, caracterizado por el hecho de empezar la citada reacción de hidrólisis en un sistema líquido heterogéneo en fase binaria, que consiste en un éster cinámico fundido y una solución acuosa alcalina, utilizando agua en cantidad tal que la concentración del cinamato alcalino sea de 1 a 20 % en peso en la solución acuosa alcalina; y precipitando el ácido cinámico mediante una reacción de acidificación de la citada solución acuosa alcalina con unácido mineral, bajo condiciones tales que el valor del pH del líquido resultante después de finalizar la reacción de acidificación se mantenga a nomás de 4 y que la concentración del ácido cinámico producido una vez finalizada la reacción sea de 1 al 20 % en peso de la suspensión resultante; llevándosea cabo la citada reacción de acidificación por adición de la solución acuosa alcalina del cinamato alcalino obtenido en la reacción de hidrólisis sobre el ácido mineral, o por adición en continuo de la solución acuosa alcalina del cinamato alcalino, obtenido en la reacción de hidrólisis, y del ácido mineral en el interior de un recipiente para la reacción de acidificación, seguido de descarga en continuo del líquido resultante que contiene el ácido cinámico precipitado en el interior del citado recipiente de la reacción.
