Abstract
Un proceso para la extracción de cobre a partir de un mineral o concentrado de sulfuro de cobre, que comprende las etapas de: someter el mineral o el concentrado a oxidación mediante presión en presencia de oxígeno y una solución ácida que contenga iones haluro y sulfato para obtener una lechada resultante de la oxidación mediante presión, someter la lechada a una etapa de separación líquido / sólido para obtener un filtrado resultante de la oxidación mediante presión y un residuo sólido que contenga una sal insoluble de sulfato básico de cobre; lixiviar la sal de sulfato básico de cobre, producida en la oxidación mediante presión, con una solución de sulfato ácido para disolver la sal básica de cobre para producir un licor de lixiviado que contenga sulfato de cobre en disolución y un residuo sólido resultante; separar el licor de lixiviado del residuo sólido; someter el licor de lixiviado a un proceso de extracción con disolventes para producir una solución de concentrado de cobre y un refinado libre de cobre; y reciclando al menos una porción del refinado a la etapa de oxidación mediante presión, caracterizada porque: el refinado se somete a evaporación para eliminar agua contenida en él antes de su reciclado, y la evaporación se efectúa mediante una evaporación con llama directa, proceso que comprende la combustión sumergida de un combustible en el refinado que se va a reciclar.
