SE EXPONE UN PROCEDIMIENTO PARA HALOGENAR UN COPOLIMERO DE UNA ISOMONOOLEFINA C 4 - C 7 , POR EJEMPLO, ISOBUTILENO, Y UN PARA ALQUILESTIRENO, POR EJEMPLO, PARA - METILESTIRENO. EL AUMENTO DE LA EFICIENCIA DE LA HALOGENACION SE CONSIGUE DESARROLLANDOSE EN LA REACCION EN CONDICIONES DE HALOGENACION DE RADICALES LIBRES Y EN PRESENCIA DE UN AGENTE OXIDANTE, POR EJEMPLO, PEROXIDO DE HIDROGENO, QUE OXIDA EL HALOGENURO DE HIDROGENO GENERADO IN SITU EN EL LUGAR DE LA REACCION, CONVIRTIENDOLO EN HALOGENO LIBRE. EL AGENTE OXIDANTE NO SE AÑADE PREFERENTEMENTE AL MEDIO DE REACCION HASTA QUE SE HAYA COMPLETADO SUSTANCIALMENTE LA PRIMERA ETAPA DE LA HALOGENACION.
