Abstract
Un aparato (10, 200, 402) para medir el volumen de una herida, comprendiendo el aparato: un vendaje (14, 412) que cubre y obtura la herida para formar una cavidad sobre la herida; un conducto de aspiración (12, 274, 406) que discurre desde la cavidad de la herida hasta un bote de desechos (22, 204, 418); una fuente de vacío (44, 248, 426); medios de sensor de medida de flujo (48, 430), y un sistema de control y monitorización (60, 440) configurados para calcular un volumen de la herida.

desde el dispositivo 32 a través de la puerta de escape 54. El material de filtro 52 también sirva como material de reducción de ruido para aumentar el efecto del sistema de silenciador 50. El dispositivo 32 contiene también un paquete de batería 56 para alimentar el aparato cuyo paquete de batería también alimenta el sistema de control 60 que controla el sistema de interfaz de usuario 62 controlado a través de un teclado (no mostrado) y la bomba de aspiración 44 a través de señales procedentes de los sensores 46, 48. También está provisto un sistema de gestión de energía 66 que controla la energía procedente del paquete de batería 56, la recarga del mismo y los requisitos de energía de la bomba de aspiración 44 y otros componentes eléctricamente alimentados. Un conector eléctrico 68 está provisto para recibir un enchufe de enterada de energía 70 providente de un suministro de energía SELV 72 conectado a un suministro de red eléctrica 74 cuando el usuario del aparato o el propio aparato están junto a un enchufe de red eléctrica conveniente.
La Figura 2 muestra una representación esquemática similar a la Figura 1 pero muestra las trayectorias del fluido con más detalle. El exudado de herida es aspirado desde el sitio/vendaje de herida 14 a través del conducto 12, las dos partes de conector 18, 20 y el conducto 24 al interior del bote de desechos 22. El bote de desechos 22 comprende un volumen relativamente grande 80 en la región de 500 ml en el cual es extraído el exudado procedente de la herida mediante el sistema de aspiración en una puerta de entrada 82.
El fluido 84 extraído al interior del volumen del bote 80 es una mezcla tanto de aire extraído del vendajes 14 a través de la cubierta de obturación adhesiva semipermeable (no mostrada) y líquido 86 en forma de exudados de herida. El volumen 80 dentro del bote está también a una presión inferior y el elemento gaseoso 88 de los fluidos aspirados es expulsado desde el volumen de bote 80 a través de los filtros 26 y la puerta de salida de expulsión 28 del bote de desechos como un gas libre de bacterias. Desde la puerta de salida 28 del bote de desechos hasta la puerta de expulsión final 54 el fluido es sólo gaseoso.
La Figura 3 muestra un diagrama esquemático que muestra solo la parte de dispositivo del aparato y las trayectorias de energía en el dispositivo del aparato que encarna la presente invención. La energía se proporciona principalmente mediante el paquete de batería 56 cuando el usuario está fuera de casa o de su lugar de trabajo, por ejemplo, sin embargo, la energía también puede ser proporcionada por una unidad de carga 72 alimentada por la red eléctrica externa 77 que, cuando está conectada al dispositivo 32 mediante el enchufe 68 es capaz de hacer funcionar el dispositivo y recargar el paquete de batería 56 de manera simultánea. El sistema de gestión de energía 66 esta incluid de manera que es capaz de controlar la energía del sistema TNP. El sistema TNP es un sistema accionado por batería recargable pero es capaz de ser accionado directamente a partir de una red eléctrica como se describirá más adelante con más detalle con respecto a las figuras adicionales. Si se desconecta de la red eléctrica la batería tiene suficiente carga almacenada para aproximadamente 8 horas de uso en condiciones normales. Se apreciará que se pueden utilizar baterías que tengan otros tiempos de vida entre recarga asociados. Poe ejemplo, se puede utilizar baterías que proporcionen medios de 8 horas o más de 8 horas. Cuando está conectado a la red, al dispositivo funcionará con la energía de la red y simultáneamente recargará la batería si está agotada del uso portátil. La velocidad exacta de recarga de batería dependerá de la carga en el sistema TNP. Por ejemplo, si la herida es muy grande o si hay fugas significativas, la recarga de la batería llevarla más tiempo que sin la herida es pequeña y está bien obturada.
La Figura 4 muestra el dispositivo 32 parte del aparato que encarna la presente invención y las trayectorias de datos empleadas en el sistema de controla para controlar la bomba de aspiración y otras características del aparato. Una finalidad clave del sistema TNP es aplicar terapia de herida de presión negativa. Esto se realiza a través del sistema de control de presión que incluye una bomba y un sistema de control de bomba. La bomba aplica presión negativa; el sistema de control de presión proporciona retroalimentación sobre la presión en la cabeza de la bomba al sistema de control; el control de bomba modifica la velocidad de bomba en base a la diferencia entre la presión objetivo y la presión real en el cabeza de bomba. Para mejorar la precisión de la velocidad de bomba y por tanto proporcionar una aspiración más suave y precisa de la presión negativa en una zona de herida, la bomba es controlada por un sistema de control auxiliar. A la bomba se le permite de vez en cuando que “ruede libre” durante su ciclo de trabajo desconectando el voltaje aplicado a ella. El motor girando hace que sea generada una “fuerza contraelectromotriz” o BEMF. La BEMF se puede monitorear y se puede utilizar para una medida precisa de a velocidad de bomba. La velocidad puede de este modo ser ajustada de forma más precisa que con los sistemas de bomba de la técnica anterior.
De acuerdo con las realizaciones de la presente invención, la presión real en la zona de la herida no se mide pero la diferencia entre una presión medida (en la bomba) y la presión de herida se minimiza mediante el uso de filtros grandes y tubos de calibre grande siempre que sea práctico. Si el control de presión mide que la presión en la cabeza de bomba es mayor que una presión objetivo (más próxima a la presión atmosférica) durante un periodo de tiempo, el dispositivo envía una alarma y presenta una mensaje que alerta al usuario de un problema potencial, tal como una fuga.
Además del control de presión se puede proporcionar un sistema de control de flujo separado. Un caudalímetro puede estar situado después de la bomba y ser utilizado para detectar cuándo un bote está lleno o el tubo se ha bloqueado. Si el flujo cae por debajo de un cierto valor umbral, el dispositivo hace sonar una alarma y presenta un mensaje alertando al usuario de un bloqueo potencial o del bote lleno.
