Abstract
An improved device for computer tomography, comprising an x-ray source for generating a flat x-ray beam, in the form of a fan, and an x-ray detector comprising a series of detection elements that are arranged on an arc of circumference, the x-ray source and the x-ray detector being rotatable around a common axis of rotation which is directed transversely to the plane of the beam in the form of a fan, characterized in that the x-ray source has a relatively small emitting surface, having the detection elements a relatively small radiation input surface, the distance between the radiation input surface of the detection elements and the axis of rotation being substantially equal to the distance between the emitting surface of the x-ray source and the axis of rotation, the x-ray source and the x-ray detector being rotated around the axis of rotation substantially with the same angular velocity, but in opposite directions.
