Una composizione per la confettatura di semi comprende, oltre alle comuni polveri inerti e ad un microorganismo promotore della crescita, un agente osmoprotettore a base di un polialcole, preferibilmente glicerolo, atto ad evitare la disidratazione del microorganismo, mantenendone pertanto una elevata concentrazione sul seme anche dopo lunghi tempi di stoccaggio.
