Abstract

【課題】従来技術に見られるような危険な領域を覆い、歩行者に対する衝撃を防止し又は減衰させるため、車両の外側にエアバッグを配備することによって歩行者を保護する。
【解決手段】フェンダーの内側と外側を分離する外板を有する自動車用フェンダーであって、前記外板は、フェンダーの内側から外側へ向かう圧力を受けたときに開くのに適した壊れやすいゾーンを具備している。

Description

本発明は、道路交通事故に巻き込まれた歩行者の安全性の分野に関する。
各フロント・フェンダーとボンネットの間の接合部を取り囲む自動車の車体の領域は、非常に硬いので歩行者にとって特に危険であることが知られている。
本発明の目的は、上記の危険な領域を覆い、歩行者に対する衝撃を防止し又は減衰させるため、車両の外側にエアバッグを配備することによって歩行者を保護することである。
このため、本発明は、フェンダーの内側と外側を分離する外板を有する自動車用フェンダーであって、前記外板は、フェンダーの内側から外側へ向かう押圧を受けたときに開くのに適した壊れやすいゾーンを具備している。
本発明の他の有利な特徴によれば、フェンダーは、プラスチック材料製、例えば、熱可塑性材料製又は熱硬化性材料製であり、フェンダーの内側は、壊れやすいゾーンと位置合わせして置かれたエアバッグ・ハウジングを含み、エアバッグ・ハウジングはプラスチック材料製のフェンダーと一体的に成形されている。
次に、一例として本発明の一実施形態の詳細を説明する。
自動車用フロント・フェンダーは、ＮＯＲＹＬ ＧＴＺ（供給者である、ゼネラルエレクトリック社によって登録された商標）から製作される。フェンダーは、外側面及び内側面を有するスキン（ｓｋｉｎ）、即ち外板によって構成される。フェンダーの外側面は、車両の外側に露出し、車両の外側から見られることが意図され、一方、内側面は、フェンダーが車両の所定の位置にあるとき、車両の内側に面することが意図されている。かくして、外側面はフェンダーの外側にあり、内側面はフェンダーの内側にある。
外板の厚さは実質的に２ミリメートル（ｍｍ）と一致する。
フェンダーは、一般的に、（車両の所定の位置にあるとき）垂直面に場所をとり、ボンネットの近傍にある上端によって上部が終端されている。
この上端付近に、実質的に長方形の壊れやすいゾーンが、例えば、１ｍｍの深さをもつ浅い溝によって画成される。
フェンダーの外観を保つため、この溝は内側面だけに形成され、溝の上方を含む外側面は一様である。
この溝は、内側から押圧が生じ、外側へ向かって作用する場合に、フェンダーを貫通する長方形の通路を開くために壊れる脆弱な線を形成する。
この押圧は、溝によって画成された壊れやすいゾーンと位置合わせしてフェンダーの内側面に設けられたハウジングに収容されたエアバッグの激しい展開によって結果として生じ得る。ハウジングはフェンダーに取り付けてもよく、又は、ハウジングはフェンダーと一体的に成形してもよい。
この具体的な実施形態は、単に一例として記載されたものであり、限定的な事項を一切示すものではない。

Claims (4)

  1. フェンダーの内側と外側を分離する外板を有する自動車用フェンダーであって、
    前記外板は、前記フェンダーの前記内側から前記外側へ向かう押圧を受けたときに開くのに適した壊れやすいゾーンを具備している、
    自動車用フェンダー。
  2. プラスチック材料製である、請求項１に記載のフェンダー。
  3. 前記内側は、前記壊れやすいゾーンと位置合わせして置かれたエアバッグ・ハウジングを含む、請求項１に記載のフェンダー。
  4. 前記エアバッグ・ハウジングはプラスチック材料製の前記フェンダーと一体的に成形されている、請求項３に記載のフェンダー。
