    【実用新案登録請求の範囲】
  1. 光源からの不定偏光光を主にＰ偏光成分の直線
    偏光光とＳ偏光成分の直線偏光光とに空間的分離
    を行うための偏光ビームスプリツタと、前記Ｐ偏
    光成分の直線偏光光と前記Ｓ偏光成分の直線偏光
    光のどちらか一方の直線偏光光の偏光方向と、も
    う一方の直線偏光光の偏光方向とが等しくなるよ
    うに、前記偏広ビームスプリツタにより分離され
    た２つの直線偏光光路のうちの一方の光路中に配
    置した、少くとも１個は偏光方向を９０°回転さ
    せる２個の直角プリズムと、もう一方の光路中に
    配置した偏光方向を保持する２個の直角プリズム
    とから構成されることを特徴とする偏光変換素子
    。
