Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 [産業上の利用分野] 本発明は2サイクルエンジン油組成物に関し、詳しくは
エンジンの出力向上に寄与できる、高温清浄性および焼
付防止性に優れた2サイクルエンジン油組成物に関する
[従来の技術] 近年、スポーツバイクの人気を背景にレーシングが盛ん
になっている。レーシング用エンジンは一般のエンジン
に比較し、小型、軽量、高出力を追求している。高出力
化は吸排気系や燃焼室形状の改良、最高出力回転数の向
上により行われているが、潤滑油からも出力向上に貢献
できるならば極めて意義深いことである。
現在レーシング用2サイクルエンジンには、高温におけ
る油膜の確保を目的に熱安定性がよいエステル系合成油
を基油にした専用油が用いられているが、運転中に出力
低下が起こることが本発明者らによって明らかになった
。この出力低下の現象はエステル系合成油のみならず、
鉱油およびポリブテンを基油にした2サイクルエンジン
油においても同様に起こることが確認され、潤滑油から
は2サイクルエンジンの出力増加には寄与できないと考
えられてきた。
しかし本発明者らは、各種合成油を評価し、2サイクル
エンジンに適した潤滑油を開発すべく研究を重ねた結果
、特定の基油および添加剤を配合した油がこれまで市販
された2サイクルエンジン油を用いた場合に比べ大幅に
出力を向上させ、しかも出力低下を起こさないことを見
出し、本発明を完成するに至った。
[発明が解決しようとする課ffi] 本発明は、エンジンの出力向上に寄与できる、高温清浄
性および焼付防止性に優れた2サイクルエンジン油を提
供することを目的とする。
[課題を解決するための手段] すなわち本発明は、 (1)(^)100℃での動粘度が20〜50cStで
あるα−オレフィン−ジカルボン酸エステル共重合体2
0〜80重量%、および (B) 100℃での動粘度が4〜20cSLであるペ
ンタエリスリトール脂肪酸エステル80〜20重量% より成る基油100重量部に対し、必須成分として、(
II)カルンウムフエネート 0.4〜6重量部を配合
することを特徴とするサイクルエンジン浦組成物を提供
するものである。
以下、本発明の内容をさらに詳細に説明する。
本発明における(1)基油の(A)成分であるα−オレ
フィン−ジカルボン酸エステル共重合体とは、−最大 [式中、R1は直鎖または分枝アルキル基を示し、X 
1 、X2 r X3およびX4は同一でも異なってい
てもよく、それぞれ水素、直鎖または分枝アルキル基、
ならびに式−R2−C02R3で表される基または式−
CO2R4で表されるエステル基(R2は直鎖または分
枝アルキレン基を示し、R3およびR4は同一でも異な
っていてもよく、それぞれ直鎖または分枝アルキル基を
示す)のいずれかを示し、x、、x2 、x3 、x4
のいずれか2つは当該エステル基であり、Xおよびyは
同一でも異なっていてもよく、それぞれ正の数を示す] で表されるものである。
ここで、式−6Ha −CH−で表される構造は、R目 α−オレフィンに由来するものであり、このα−オレフ
ィンとしては炭素数3〜20のものが好ましく用いられ
、さらに好ましくは炭素数6〜18のものが用いられる
。具体的には、例えば、プロピレン、■−ブテン、■−
ペンテン、l−ヘキセン、1−ヘプテン、1−オクテン
、l−ノネン、1−デセン、■−ウンデセン、1−ドデ
セン、l−トリデセン、■−テトラデセン、l−ペンタ
デセン、l−へキサデセン、l−へブタデセン、l−オ
クタデセン、■−ノナデセン、■−エイコセン等が挙げ
られる。
ルボン酸エステルに由来するものである。このジカルボ
ン酸としては具体的には例えば、マレイン酸、フマル酸
、シトラコン酸、メサコン酸、イタコン酸等が挙げられ
る。またアルコールとしては炭素数1〜20のものが好
ましく、さらには炭素数3〜8のものが好ましい。この
アルコールとしては、具体的には例えば、メタノール、
エタノール、プロパツール、ブタノール、ペンタノール
、ヘキサノール、ヘプタツール、オクタツール、ノナノ
ール、デカノール、ウンデカノール、ドデカノール、ト
リデカノール、テトラデカノール、ペンタデカノール、
ヘキサデカノール、ヘプタデカノール、オクタデカノー
ル、ノナデカノール、エイコサノール等が挙げられる。
これらのα−オレフィンおよびジカルボン酸エステルを
共重合させることにより(A)成分が得られる。製法の
詳細については特開昭58−85248号公報に記載さ
れている。この際にα−オレフィンと、ジカルボン酸エ
ステルとのモル比は、x:y−1:9〜9:1であるの
が好ましい。また(A)成分の平均分子量は1000〜
3000であるのが好ましい。さらに(A)成分の動粘
度は20〜50 cs t @ 100℃、好ましくは
30〜40 cs t @ 100℃であることが必要
である。20cSt未満の場合あるいは50cStを超
える場合には、本発明の特徴であるエンジン出力の向上
を達成できないため好ましくない。
本発明における(I)基油の(B)成分であるペンタエ
リスリトール脂肪酸エステルとは、−最大[式中、R5
、R6、R7およびR8は同一でも異なってもいてもよ
く、それぞれ直鎖または分枝アルキル基を示すコ で表されるものであり、ペンタエリスリトールと脂肪酸
のエステル化反応によって得ることができる。この脂肪
酸としては炭素数2〜20のものが好ましく用いられ、
炭素数3〜16のものは特に好ましく用いられる。この
脂肪酸としては、具体的には例えば、酢酸、プロピオン
酸、酪酸、イソ酪酸、吉草酸、イソ吉草酸、ビバル酸、
ヘキサン酸、イソヘキサン酸、ヘプタン酸、イソへブタ
ン酸、オクタン酸、イソオクタン酸、ノナン酸、イソノ
ナン酸、デカン酸、イソデカン酸、ウンデカン酸、イソ
ウンデカン酸、ラウリン酸、イソラウリン酸、トリデカ
ン酸、イソトリデカン酸、ミリスチン酸、イソミリスチ
ン酸、ペンタデカン酸、イソペンタデカン酸、バルミチ
ン酸、イソパルミチン酸、ヘプタデカン酸、イソヘプタ
デカン酸、ステアリン酸、イソステアリン酸、ノナデカ
ン酸、イソノナデカン酸、エイコサン酸、イソエイコサ
ン酸等が挙げられる。
この(B)成分の動粘度は4〜20 cs t @ 1
00℃、好ましくは5〜10 cs L @ 100℃
であることが必要である。4cSt未満の場合あるいは
20cStを超える場合は、本発明の特徴であるエンジ
ン出力の向上が達成できないため好ましくない。
上記の(A)成分および(B)成分を混合して本発明に
おける(1)基油となるのであるが、この際、(^)成
分の(1)基油全体に対する量は20〜80重量%、好
ましくは30〜70重量%であり、また、(B)成分の
(1)基油全体に対する量は80〜20重量%、好まし
くは70〜30重量%であることが必要である。もし配
合割合が上記の数値を満たさないときは、エンジン出力
の向上が達成できないため好ましくない。また、(I)
基油の動粘度は10〜25cst @ 100℃である
のが好ましい。
本発明の(II)成分であるカルシウムフェネートは、
例えば、−最大 [式中、R9、R,o、R,、、R,□、R,,,R,
4は同一でも異なっていてもよく、それぞれ直鎖または
分枝アルキル基を示し、好ましくは炭素数4〜30、さ
らに好ましくは炭素数6〜18のものを示す] で表される一種または二種以上のものを使用することが
できる。この(■)成分は過塩素酸性塩基価30〜30
0のものが好ましく、さらには50〜100のものが好
ましい。また、(II)成分の配合量は、(I)基油1
00型皿部に対して0.4〜6重量部、好ましくは1〜
4重量部であることが必要である。
配合量が0.4重量部未満の場合にはピストン清浄性が
低下し、6重量部を超える場合には燃焼室沈積物が多く
なるためそれぞれ好ましくない。
本発明の2サイクルエンジン油組成物には、さらにその
優れた性能を向上させる目的で公知の3種添加剤を使用
することができる。この添加剤としては、例えば、アル
カリ土類金属スルホネート、アルカリ土類金属ホスホネ
ート、アルケニルコハク酸イミド、ホウ酸変性アルケニ
ルコハク酸イミド、ポリオキシアルキレンアミノアミド
、ベンジルアミン等の清浄分散剤、ポリメタクリレート
等の流動点降下剤、リン系、硫黄系、窒素系等の極圧剤
、さび止め剤、消泡剤等が挙げられる。これら各種添加
剤の添加量は、(1)基油に対し0.5〜10重量部で
あることが好ましく、さらには l〜5!(im部であ
ることが好ましい。
本発明の2サイクルエンジン油組成物は、そのエンジン
出力向上に寄与できるという特性から、特にレース用2
サイクルエンジンに適しているが、その他の2サイクル
エンジン、例えば、2輪車用、4輪車用、舶用、農業用
、発電用の2サイクルエンジンにも好ましく使用できる
[実施例] 以下、本発明の内容を実施例および比較例によりさらに
具体的に説明する。
実施例1〜6および比較例1〜9 第1表に示す基油に対して、カルシウムフェネートやそ
の他の添加剤を第1表の割合で添加してエンジン油組成
物を得た。
この際の(A)〜(B)成分やエンジン油組成物の動粘
度も併せて第1表に示した。
このエンジン油組成物の性能を下記に示す試験(貯蔵安
定性試験、エンジン出力試験、エンジン焼付性試験、エ
ンジン清浄性試験)で評価し、結果を第2表に示した。
(1)貯蔵安定性試験 実施例および比較例の各組成物を室温で1週間放置し、
にごりの見られないものは合格、濁りの見られたものは
不合格とした。
(2)エンジン出力試験 空冷単気筒123ccの2サイクルエンジンを用い、全
負荷、燃料−エンジン油混合比20:l、プラグ産湯2
54℃の条件で、7000 rpa+と500Orpm
において出力を安定させ、その時の出力を測定した。市
販レース用エンジン油の出力を基準とし、出力向上率を
%で示した。
(3)エンジン焼付性試験 前記(2)の試験と同じエンジンを用い、7000rp
m 、全負荷、燃料−エンジン油混合比35:1、プラ
グ産湯250℃の条件で、3時間運転を行い、ピストン
スカート部およびシリンダライナ一部の状況の観察を行
った。焼付の見られないものは合格とした。
(4)エンジン清浄性試験 前記(2)の試験と同じエンジンを用い、7000rp
m、全負荷、燃料−エンジン浦混合比20:lプラグ座
温300℃の条件で3時間運転を行い、第1リング、第
2リング、第 1リングランド、第2リングランド、ピ
ストンスカート、ピストンアンダーサイドのGカ所の観
察を行い、それぞれについて各10点満点で評価し総合
評点を求めた( 0−最悪、6〇−最良)。
第2表に示す結果から明らかなように、本発明の2サイ
クルエンジン油はいずれも比較例1に示す市販レース用
エンジン油に比べて出力の向上がみられ、貯蔵安定性、
焼付防止性、清浄性においても優れている。
それに対して市販レース用エンジン油は高負荷下におい
てエンジン出力の低下(焼付の前兆)がみられた。また
基面粘度が本発明の範囲外のものを用いた場合(比較例
2〜4 ) 、(B)成分の代わりにトリメチロールプ
ロパンを用いた場合(比較例7)は市販レース用エンジ
ン油に比べて出力向上があまりみられないか、もしくは
低下した。さらに、(II)成分を用いない場合(比較
例5)はエンジン清浄性が劣り、(II)成分の代わり
にカルシウムスルホネートを用いた場合(比較例6)は
貯蔵安定性が悪い。また基油に鉱油(比較例8)あるい
はポリブテン(比較例9)を用いた場合は市販レース用
エンジン曲に比べて出力向上があまりみられず、清浄性
についても劣っていた。
[発明の効果] 以上のように、本発明の2サイクルエンジン浦は、エン
ジンの出力を向上させ、しかも貯蔵安定性、焼付防止性
、清浄性にも優れたエンジン浦である。

Claims (1)

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 ( I )(A)100℃での動粘度が20〜50cSt
    であるα−オレフィン−ジカルボン酸エステ ル共重合体20〜80重量%、および (B)100℃での動粘度が4〜20cStであるペン
    タエリスリトール脂肪酸エステル 80〜20重量% より成る基油100重量部に対し、必須成分として、(
    II)カルシウムフェネート0.4〜6重量部を配合する
    ことを特徴とする2サイクルエンジン油組成物。
