Description
術として用いられる気球応用血管整形術を施した後に、
人間やその他の動物の冠状動脈や末梢動脈等の血管の開
通を維持するための血管内ステントに関するものである
。さらに詳しくは、従来のステントでは、これを使用す
ることが困難であった動脈中の屈曲部や直径が変化する
位置に用いるためのステントであって、−回の施術で取
り付けることができる一本のステントの適用範囲を拡張
することができるステントに関するものである。
ステントな使用することの有用性は広(知られている。
な膨張させるために余計な作業が必要であった。
ステムに関する米国特許第4830003号等の技術改
良により、圧縮型弾性ステントを装填、保持したカテー
テルシステムであって、当該ステントを動脈内の所望の
位置に配置することができるものが開発されている。
効率を従前のものに比べてよくするものであったが、血
管の屈曲部においては、その曲がり具合や長さ、更に直
径の変化にあわせて血管を適度に支えるために複数のス
テントな使用する必要があった。また、この方法では、
ステントな正確な位置に隣接して配置することが困難で
あり、隣り合うステント同士の干渉によりステントの効
果が減少するおそれもあった。更に、この方法ではステ
ントな適正に配置するのに多(の時間が必要であった。

供することを課題とする。

ており、ステント分節部12のワイヤーよりその直径は
小さくなっている。ヒンジ部14は、レーザー溶着か電
気溶着技術によって前後のステント分節部12のそれぞ
れの一端に溶着されている。

するとおり一方向のみに屈曲する動脈16内に取り付け
られるものだからである。
ステント分節部12の端部は、屈曲のため互いに接近し
ている。このヒンジ部14の配置によって、該ヒンジ部
14は2つの役割を果たしている。
部からみて外方の動脈壁を補強的に支える役割であり、
その第2は、ヒンジ部14と反対側の複数のステント分
節部12の端部を互いに近づける役割である。この第2
の役割により、屈曲部内方の動脈壁は補強的に支えられ
ることになる。
動脈内に挿入された関節接合型ステントの位置を監視し
、その方位を測定及び決定し得るように、放射線非透過
性材料で作られるか、または放射線非透過性物質を被覆
されている。
、第8図及び第9図に示す従来のステント挿入装置を用
いて動脈内の所定位置に挿入される。当該ステント挿入
装置には、ガイドカテーテル51と、ステントを圧縮保
持し、血管内の取り付は位置を定めるための外側カテー
テル52と、外側カテーテル52がステントな血管内に
取り付けるために後退する間、ステントな所望の位置に
保持するための内側カテーテル54と、任意のガイドワ
イヤー56とから概略構成されている。

イドカテーテル51の内側で回動して所望の進入方向を
得ることができる。

Claims (8)
- (1)少なくとも2以上の金属性の管状ステント分節部
と、当該ステント分節部同士を接合するための生体適応
性材料よりなる柔軟なヒンジ部とを有することを特徴と
する関節接合型ステント。 - (2)前記ヒンジ部はまっすぐなワイヤーであることを
特徴とする請求項1に記載の関節接合型ステント。 - (3)前記ヒンジ部は、らせん状のワイヤーであること
を特徴とする請求項1に記載の関節接合型ステント。 - (4)前記ヒンジ部は、放射線非透過性材料で作られて
いるか、または被覆されていることを特徴とする請求項
1乃至3のいずれかに記載の関節接合型ステント。 - (5)複数個のワイヤーの各端部を互いに溶着してなる
少なくとも2以上の管状ステント分節部と、当該ワイヤ
ーの一端部を延伸してなる当該ステント分節部相互間を
接合するためのヒンジ部とを有することを特徴とする関
節接合型ステント。 - (6)前記ヒンジ部はステント分節部を構成するワイヤ
ーよりも小さな直径を有することを特徴とする請求項5
に記載の関節接合型ステント。 - (7)前記ヒンジ部は、らせん状に巻かれていることを
特徴とする請求項5または6のいずれかに記載の関節接
合型ステント。 - (8)前記ヒンジ部は放射線非透過性材料で作られてい
るか、または被覆されていることを特徴とする請求項5
乃至7のいずれかに記載の関節接合型ステント。
