(b) Prior art Japanese Patent Publication No. 51-10843 (Japanese Classification 21B51) discloses two curved transparent plates facing each other with a space between them, and a hollow part arranged between the straight parts of the curved transparent plates. At least two rectangular cylindrical straight metal spacers each containing a large amount of granular moisture absorbent, and a prismatic cylindrical spacer placed between the curved portion of the first curved transparent plate and containing a large amount of granular moisture absorbent in the hollow portion. A curved multi-layer transparent plate is shown, which is composed of two curved metal spacers forming a shape, and the moisture absorbent of both the straight and curved metal spacers is provided with a large number of ventilation holes around the periphery, and air holes at both ends. A flexible synthetic resin tube with a lid is filled and housed in the hollow part.

According to such a configuration, the moisture absorbent is first filled into the flexible synthetic resin tube and then this tube is housed in the straight metal spacer and the curved metal spacer, so it takes time and effort to arrange the moisture absorbent in both spacers. The drawback is that it is not only bulky but also has a large number of parts.
Furthermore, when a curved metal spacer is used for a curved multi-layer transparent plate, it is necessary to mold the straight metal spacer according to the curved surface of the curved transparent plate, which requires more effort, time, and cost. If the shapes of the transparent plate and the curved metal spacer do not match, it is very difficult to assemble them.

If you look at FIGS. 1 and 3 of the prior art,
The flexible spacer is interposed between the straight metal spacers, and both end faces of the flexible spacer are brought into contact with the end faces of the straight metal spacer. However, when such conventional technology is actually used, the flexible spacer is not curved. Distortion occurred on both cut end faces of the flexible spacer, and when the flexible spacer and the straight metal spacer were butted against each other, a wedge-shaped gap was formed between the end faces. In other words, when the flexible spacer is curved, a force that causes the spacer to contract toward the center (contraction force) acts on the inner curved surface, and a force that extends toward both ends (repulsion force) acts on the inner curved surface. The outer curved surface is formed because both effects opposite to those of the inner curved surface occur, and as the degree of curvature of the flexible spacer increases, the degree of opening of the gap also increases.

One way to eliminate this gap is to use adhesive to fill the gap with wedges made of expandable closed-cell resin such as expanded polyethylene, but this method is not only time-consuming but also This has the disadvantage of increasing the number of parts and increasing assembly costs. As another method, when cutting a long flexible spacer to a predetermined size, it is possible to take the above gap into consideration and cut the cut end surface so that it becomes an inclined surface. When a straight metal spacer is butted against a straight metal spacer using an adhesive, the shrinkage force and repulsive force described above will act on the flexible spacer due to the curvature. The curved transparent plate must be held down, which not only reduces the rotation rate of the jig, but also makes it necessary to change the degree of inclination of the cut end surface each time the size and degree of curvature of the curved transparent plate changes. There was a problem with productivity.

First, after closing one end surface of both straight metal spacers 4 and 5 with a cap 11, a predetermined amount of moisture absorbent 10 is put into the hollow part of both straight metal spacers, and The remaining end surface of the spacer is closed with a cap 11. Next, adhesives 12A and 12C are applied to the two sides of the straight metal spacers 4 and 5, which are opposite to the straight parts of the compatible upper portions 2B, 2B, 3B and 3B of both the curved transparent plates 2 and 3. Adhesive 12A of the straight metal spacer is pasted along the straight portions of the compatible upper portions 2B, 2B of the curved transparent plate 2 having a large surface area. Note that the adhesive 12A may be provided in advance along the linear portions of the compatible upper portions 2B, 2B of the curved transparent plate 2. Next, adhesives 12B and 12D are applied to the two surfaces of the flexible spacers 6 and 7 that face the curved portions of the curved transparent plates 2 and 3, that is, the inner and outer curved surfaces that are bent in the curved direction. The adhesive 12B of both flexible spacers was adhered along both curved parts of the curved transparent plate 2 having a large surface area, so that both the flexible spacers were adapted to the shape of both curved parts of the curved transparent plate 2. Of the two surfaces that are curved in the shape and intersect with both the inner and outer curved surfaces of the flexible spacers 6 and 7 bent in the curve direction, both ends of the surface facing the internal space after the curved multilayer transparent plate 1 is assembled. The surfaces thereof are superimposed on the caps 11 provided at both ends of both the straight metal spacers, and the straight metal spacers 4 and 5 are interposed or sandwiched between the flexible spacers 6 and 7. Make the metal spacer and both flexible spacers into a frame shape. Note that the adhesive 12B may be provided in advance along both curved portions of the curved transparent plate 2. Next, both straight parts of the curved transparent plate 3 with a small surface area are connected with both straight metal spacers 4,
5. Lay both curved portions on both flexible spacers 6 and 7, adhere the curved transparent plates 3 to the adhesives 12C and 12D, and combine the two curved transparent plates 2 and 3. Finally, an annular groove defined by both curved transparent plates 2, 3, both straight metal spacers 4, 5, and both flexible spacers 6, 7 is filled with elastic adhesive 8. Thus, the desired curved transparent plate 1 can be obtained.

A chain line in FIG. 7 indicates a state in which the curved transparent plates 3 are overlapped, and the curved transparent plate 3 is rotated in the direction of the chain line arrow. The overlapping of the curved transparent plates 3 by this rotation is achieved by the compatible upper portions 3B and 3 of the curved transparent plates.
This is effective when the dimension of B is short, but if the dimension is long, it becomes impossible to rotate. In that case, the 8th
As shown in FIG. 9 and FIG. 9, no adhesive 12C is provided on the surfaces of the straight metal spacers 4 and 5 that face the straight parts of the compatible upper portions 3B and 3B, and as shown in FIG. By providing the adhesive 12D on the surfaces of both flexible spacers 6 and 7 facing both end surfaces of the flat portion 3A, the curved transparent plates 3 can be smoothly overlapped.

According to the method for manufacturing such curved multilayer transparent plate 1,
Leakage of the moisture absorbent 10 inside the straight metal spacers 4 and 5 can be prevented by the caps 11 provided at both ends, and the caps also connect the cut end surfaces of the straight metal spacers 4 and 5 to both sides. Since the end faces of the flexible spacers 6 and 7 can be separated from each other, the end faces of both the flexible spacers 6 and 7 can be protected from burrs generated on the cut end faces, and both the straight metal spacers 4 and 5 can be separated from each other. The flexible spacers 6 and 7 can be easily butted together, and the work of adhering the flexible spacers 6 and 7 can be quickly performed. Furthermore, the end surfaces of both flexible spacers 6 and 7 that overlap the cap 11 are located at both ends of one of the other two surfaces that intersect with the two surfaces bent in the curved direction. As a result, even if both straight metal spacers 4, 5 and both flexible spacers 6, 7 are butted against each other, there is no space between them. Not only will no gap be formed, but the adhesive 12 will not form after assembling the curved multilayer transparent plate 1.
The jig 13 can be removed without waiting for solidification of A to 12D, the rotation rate of the jig can be improved, and productivity can be significantly improved.

The cap prevents the leakage of the moisture absorbent inside both straight metal spacers, and also separates the cut ends of both straight metal spacers and the end faces of both flexible spacers to prevent burrs on the cut ends of both flexible spacers from leaking. By protecting the end faces and making it easier to butt them together, it is possible to speed up the work of attaching both flexible spacers.

By making the end faces of both flexible spacers that overlap the caps the ends of one of the other two faces that intersect with the two faces that are bent in the curving direction, the bending of both flexible spacers is prevented. The abutting surfaces of both flexible spacers receive almost no contractile force or repulsive force, and as a result, no gaps are formed between each spacer, which not only improves assembly work but also reduces the rotation rate of the jig. This will greatly improve productivity.
