Description

【考案の詳細な説明】
〔産業上の利用分野〕 この考案はプラスチツク管を連結するのに使用
される管継手に関し、ことに内部にコイル状の電
熱線(以下コイルという)を埋設し、これに通電
して管との接触面を加熱溶融することにより融着
するエレクトロフユージヨン継手に関する。 〔従来の技術〕 エレクトロフユージヨン継手は、上下水道やガ
ス管などに使用されるプラスチツク管の管継手と
して近年開発されたもので、筒体の内部にコイル
を埋設した成形品よりなつており、管との融着は
継手の両側より管を嵌挿後通電して接触面を加熱
溶融することにより行うようになつている。この
継手によれば、管の連結が継手の両側より管を嵌
挿後通電するだけで行うことができ、それまでの
ように管継手と管との互いの接触面を加熱溶融し
たのち管に管継手を嵌挿して行うのと比べ、連結
作業を容易かつ迅速に行うことができて作業能率
が向上し、しかも連結を比較的確実に行うことが
できる利点がある。 〔考案が解決しようとする課題〕 しかし、問題はコイルと筒体を形成する樹脂の
密着度である。密着度によりコイルと樹脂間の熱
伝導率が左右され、密着度が不均一であると、樹
脂に溶けるところと、溶けないところが生じ融着
にばらつきが生じるようになる。すなわち密着度
は、継手の温度(温度が高くなると、樹脂とコイ
ルの熱膨張差により密着度が低下し、温度が低下
すると収縮により密着度が増加する)、成形時の
溶融樹脂の圧力、成形時の残留応力、経時変化等
により影響され、成形時の冷却固化の過程におい
ても樹脂の収縮により樹脂がコイルより剥離する
ことがある。コイルと樹脂の密着度が悪い継手を
用いて融着を行うとコイルの熱が吸収されないた
めコイルが異常発熱し、その周りの樹脂を劣化、
ひいてはワツクス化させ、融着性能を低下させる
原因となる。 従来のエレクトロフユージヨン継手は、コイル
と継手を形成する樹脂の密着度が悪いという問題
点があつた。 この考案は、エレクトロフユージヨン継手を形
成する樹脂とコイルとの密着性を向上させ、更に
継手と管との融着性能を向上させることを技術的
課題とする。 〔課題を解決するための手段〕 本考案は上記のような課題を解決するため、内
部にコイル状の電熱線を埋設し、プラスチツク管
を嵌挿後通電して接触面を加熱溶融することによ
り融着するプラスチツク管の管継手として使用さ
れるエレクトロフユージヨン継手において、以下
に示す(a)〜(c)のうち、1以上の手段を適用する。 (a) 前記樹脂自体を接着性の樹脂とすること。 (b) 表面が実質的に酸化されていないコイルを用
いること。 (c) 前記樹脂とコイルの両者に対して親和性のあ
る物質で表面を被覆したコイルを用いること。 なお、以上の外に接続すべき管を構成する樹脂
を接着性の樹脂とすることで、より本発明を効果
的に利用できる。 以下本考案を更に具体的に説明する。 まず、上記(a)の継手を構成すべき樹脂について
説明する。 継手を構成する樹脂としては、その代表的なも
のであるポリオレフインを例にとれば、コイルと
の親和性がある物質として、不飽和カルボン酸ま
たはその誘導体で変性されたポリオレフインA、
不飽和エポキシ単量体で変性されたポリオレフイ
ンB、オレフイン性不飽和結合を有するシラン単
量体で変性されたポリオレフインC等の変性ポリ
オレフインやカツプリング剤等を例示することが
できる。これらについて更に詳述すると、 上述の変性ポリオレフインAとは、ポリオレフ
インを構成するモノマーに対して不飽和カルボン
酸モノマー類をランダム共重合またはブロツク共
重合したものあるいはポリオレフインに不飽和カ
ルボン酸類をグラフト共重合させたもので、不飽
和カルボン酸またはその誘導体成分単位として
は、例えば、アクリル酸、メタクリル酸、α−エ
チルアクリル酸、マレイン酸、フマール酸、イタ
コン酸、シトラコン酸、テトラヒドロフタル酸、
メチルテトラヒドロフタル酸、エンドシスビシク
ロ[2,2,1]ヘプト−5−エン−2,3−ジ
カルボン酸(ナジツク酸<商標>)、メチル−エ
ンドシスービシクロ[2,2,1]ヘプト−5−
エン−2−メチル−2,3−ジカルボン酸(メチ
ルナジツク酸<商標>)などの不飽和ジカルボン
酸、該不飽和ジカルボン酸の酸ハライド、アミ
ド、イミド、酸無水物、エステルなどの不飽和ジ
カルボン酸の誘導体が挙げられ、具体的には、塩
化マレニル、マレイミド、無水マレイン酸、無水
シトラコン酸、マレイン酸モノメチル、マレイン
酸ジメチルなどが例示される。これらの中では、
不飽和ジカルボン酸またはその酸無水物が好適で
あり、とくにマレイン酸、ナジツク酸またはこれ
らの酸無水物が好適である。 変性ポリオレフインBも同じように該単量体を
ランダム共重合、ブロツク共重合、グラフト共重
合したものであつて、不飽和エポキシ単量体とし
ては1分子中に重合可能な不飽和結合及びエポキ
シ基を各1個以上有した単量体を表わす。このよ
うな不飽和エポキシ単量体としては、例えば一般
式、 (ここで、Rは重合可能なエチレン性不飽和結
合を有する炭化水素基である)で示される不飽和
グリシジルエステル類及び一般式、 (ここで、Rは〔〕式のものと同じ、Xは −CH2−O− または
【式】で表 される2価の基である)で示される不飽和グリシ
ジルエーテル類及び一般式、 (ここで、Rは〔〕式のものと同じ、R′は
水素またはメチル基である)で表されるエポキシ
アルケン類などを挙げることができる。 具体的には、グリシジルアクリレート、グリシ
ジルメタリレート、イタコン酸のモノ及びジグリ
シジルエステル、ブテントリカルボン酸のモノ、
ジ及びトリグリシジルエステル、シトラコン酸の
モノ及びジグリシジルエステル、エンド−シス−
ビシクロ[2,2,1]ヘプト−5−エン−2,
3−ジカルボン酸(ナジツク酸<商標>)のモノ
及びジグリシジルエステル、メチル−エンド−シ
ス−ビシクロ[2,2,1]ヘプト−5−エン−
2−メチル−2,3−ジカルボン酸(メチルナジ
ツク酸<商標>)のモノ及びジグリシジルエステ
ル、アリルコハク酸のモノ及びジグリシジルエス
テル、p−スチレンカルボン酸のグリシジルエス
テル、アリルグリシジルエーテル、2−メチルア
リルグリシジルエーテル、p−グリシジルエーテ
ル−スチレン、3,4−エポキシ−1−ブテン、
3,4−エポキシ−3−メチル−1−ブテン、
3,4−エポキシ−1−ペンテン、3,4−エポ
キシ−3−メチル−1−ペンテン、5,6−エポ
キシ−1−ヘキセン、ビニルシクロヘキセンモノ
オキシドなどを例示することができる。これらの
中ではグリシジルアクリレート、グリシジルメタ
クリレートが好ましい。 変性ポリオレフインCも前述の変性ポリオレフ
インA及びBと同じように、該単量体をランダム
共重合、ブロツク共重合、グラフト共重合させた
ものである。オレフイン性不飽和結合を有するシ
ラン単量体としては如何なるものでもよいが、と
くにオレフイン性不飽和結合と共に加水分解可能
な有機基をもつシラン単量体がよく、一般式、

〔考案の効果〕
本考案のエレクトロフユジヨン継手によれば、
コイルと樹脂の界面接着力が強化され、両者の密
着度が増すためコイルの過熱による樹脂の劣化や
融着性能の低下を解消することができる。

性ポリエチレン、3……コイル、4……ポリエチ

極性溶液、13……イオン化傾向の高い金属、2
1……コイル抵抗、22……電圧、23……出
力。

Claims (1)

  1. 【実用新案登録請求の範囲】 (1) 内部にコイル状の電熱線を埋設し、プラスチ
    ツク管を嵌挿後通電して接触面を加熱溶融する
    ことにより融着するプラスチツク管の管継手と
    して使用される樹脂製のエレクトロフユージヨ
    ン継手において、以下に示す(a)〜(c)のうち、1
    以上の手段を適用したエレクトロフユージヨン
    継手。 (a) 前記樹脂自体を接着性の樹脂とすること。 (b) 表面が実質的に酸化されていないコイルを
    用いること。 (c) 前記樹脂とコイルの両者に対して親和性の
    ある物質で表面を被覆したコイルを用いるこ
    と。 (2) 融着時に電熱線を流れる電流値によつて出力
    乃至電圧を変え、電熱線の抵抗値を一定乃至ほ
    ぼ一定に維持する実用新案登録請求の範囲第1
    項記載のエレクトロフユージヨン継手。 (3) 電熱線には絶縁物が被覆される実用新案登録
    請求の範囲第1項記載のエレクトロフユージヨ
    ン継手。 (4) (a)の樹脂は、エチレン性不飽和カルボン酸単
    量体で変成されたポリオレフインを実質的な主
    成分とする熱接着性樹脂である実用新案登録請
    求の範囲第1項記載のエレクトロフユージヨン
    継手。 (5) (a)の樹脂は、エチレン性不飽和基を有する脂
    肪酸とエポキシ基を有するアルコール化合物と
    がエステル結合してなるエステル化合物で変性
    されたポリオレフインを実質的な主成分とする
    熱接着性樹脂である実用新案登録請求の範囲第
    1項記載の継手。 (6) (a)の樹脂は、エチレン性不飽和基と加水分解
    可能な有機基とを有するシラン単量体で変性さ
    れたポリオレフインを実質的な主成分とする熱
    接着性樹脂である実用新案登録請求の範囲第1
    項記載の継手。 (7) (b)のコイルは、コイル表面を脱脂、還元腐
    食、洗浄して得られることを特徴とする実用新
    案登録請求の範囲第1項記載の継手。
