【発明の詳細な説明】

【産業上の利用分野】本発明は新規な潤滑油組成物、さ
らに詳しくいえば、優れた低摩擦性を有し、内燃機関、
自動変速機、緩衝器、パワーステアリングなどの潤滑
油、特に内燃機関用潤滑油として好適に用いられる潤滑
油組成物に関するものである。

【従来の技術】従来、内燃機関や、自動変速機、緩衝
器、パワーステアリングなどの駆動系機器、ギヤなどに
は、その作動を円滑にするために潤滑油が用いられてい
る。特に内燃機関用潤滑油(エンジン油)は、主として
ピストンリングとシリンダライナ、クランク軸や連接棒
(コネクティングロッド)の軸受、カムとバルブリフタ
を含む動弁機構など、各種摺動部分の潤滑のほか、エン
ジン内の冷却や燃焼生成物の清浄分散、さらには錆や腐
食を防止するなどの作用を果たす。このように、内燃機
関用潤滑油には多様な性能が要求され、しかも近年、内
燃機関の高性能化、高出力化、運転条件の過酷化などに
伴い、高度な性能が要求されてきている。したがって、
該内燃機関用潤滑油には、このような要求性能を満たす
ために、例えば摩耗防止剤、金属清浄剤、無灰分散剤、
酸化防止剤などの種々の添加剤が配合されている。とこ
ろで、内燃機関では、潤滑油が関与する摩擦部分でのエ
ネルギー損失が大きいために、摩擦損失低減や燃費低減
対策として、摩擦調整剤(FM:フリクションモディフ
ァイヤ)を初め、各種の添加剤を組み合わせた潤滑油が
使用されている(例えば特公平3−23595号公
報)。自動車の内燃機関用潤滑油は、各種の油温度、回
転数、負荷で運転されており、したがって、さらに燃費
を向上させるためには、広範囲の使用条件下での摩擦特
性に優れる必要がある。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】本発明は、従来のMo
DTCとりん酸エステルとの併用系に比べて優れた低摩
擦性を有し、内燃機関、自動変速機、緩衝器、パワース
テアリングなどの潤滑油、特に内燃機関用潤滑油として
好適に用いられる潤滑油組成物を提供することを目的と
してなされたものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】本発明者らは、優れた低
摩擦性を有する潤滑油組成物を開発すべく鋭意研究を重
ねた結果、特定のりん酸エステル及び/又は亜りん酸エ
ステルとMoDTCとカルシウムサリシレートとを、所
定の割合で含有する潤滑油組成物により、その目的を達
成しうることを見い出し、この知見に基づいて本発明を
完成するに至った。すなわち、本発明は、潤滑油基油に
対し、組成物全重量に基づき、(A)(イ)一般式

シレートを0.3〜2.5重量%含有させたことを特徴と
する潤滑油組成物を提供するものである。以下、本発明
を詳細に説明する。本発明の潤滑油組成物において用い
られる基油については特に制限はなく、従来潤滑油の基
油として慣用されているもの、例えば鉱油や合成油が使
用される。
【0009】鉱油としては、例えば溶剤精製又は水添精
製による60ニュートラル油、100ニュートラル油、
150ニュートラル油、300ニュートラル油、500
ニュートラル油及びこれらの基油からワックス分を除く
ことにより低温流動性を改善した低流動点基油などが挙
げられ、これらは1種用いてもよいし、2種以上を適当
な割合で混合して用いてもよい。一方、合成油として
は、例えばポリα−オレフィンオリゴマー、ジエステ
ル、ポリオールエステル、ポリグリコールエステルなど
が挙げられ、これらの基油は単独または混合して用いる
ことができる。また前記鉱油と混合して用いることもで
きる。合成油と鉱油との混合割合は、例えば重量比8
0:20ないし20:80である。本発明組成物におい
て用いられる基油としては、100℃における粘度が3
〜20cStの範囲にあるものが好適であり、なかでも
芳香族成分3重量%以下、硫黄分50ppm以下及び窒素
分50ppm以下の水素化分解油及び/又はワックス異性
化油が特に好適である。本発明組成物においては、

ら選ばれた少なくとも1種が用いられる。前記一般式
[1]で表されるりん酸エステルにおいて、R1、R2
びR3は、それぞれ水素原子又は炭素数3〜23の炭化
水素基であり、それらはたがいに同一であっても異なっ
ていてもよいが、その中の少なくとも1つは炭素数3〜
23の炭化水素基である。炭素数3〜23の炭化水素基
としては、炭素数3〜23の直鎖状、分枝鎖状若しくは
環状のアルキル基又はアルケニル基、炭素数6〜23の
アリール基、炭素数7〜23のアルキルアリール基、炭
素数7〜23のアリールアルキル基などを挙げることが
できる。このようなもの具体例としては、プロピル基、
ブチル基、ペンチル基、ヘキシル基、シクロヘキシル
基、オクチル基、デシル基、ラウリル基、ミリスチル
基、パルミチル基、ステアリル基、オレイル基、エイコ
シル基、フェニル基、キシリル基、ベンジル基、フェネ
チル基などが挙げられる。
【0014】また、前記一般式[2]で表される亜りん
酸エステルにおいて、R4、R5及びR6は、それぞれ水
素原子又は炭素数3〜23の炭化水素基であり、それら
はたがいに同一であっても異なっていてもよいが、その
中の少なくとも1つは炭素数3〜23の炭化水素基であ
る。この炭素数3〜23の炭化水素基としては、前記一
般式[1]におけるR1、R2及びR3の説明において例
示したものと同じものを挙げることができる。本発明組
成物においては、該(A)成分として、前記りん酸エス
テルを1種用いてもよいし、2種以上を組み合わせて用
いてもよく、また前記亜りん酸エステルを1種用いても
よいし、2種以上を組み合わせて用いてもよい。さらに
は、該りん酸エステル1種以上と亜りん酸エステル1種
以上とを組み合わせて用いてもよい。
【0015】本発明組成物においては、該(A)成分の
りん酸エステルや亜りん酸エステルは、組成物の全重量
に基づき0.01〜0.8重量%、好ましくは0.05〜
0.5重量%の割合で含有させることが必要である。こ
の含有量が0.01重量%未満では十分な低摩擦性が得
られないし、0.8重量%を超えるとその量の割には摩
擦特性の向上効果がみられない。本発明組成物において
は、(B)成分として、炭素数8〜18の炭化水素基を
有す硫化オキシモリブデンジチオカルバメート(MoD
TC)が用いられる。該MoDTCは、一般式

[3]におけるR7及びR8はそれぞれ炭素数8〜18の
炭化水素基である。該炭素数8〜18の炭化水素基とし
ては、炭素数8〜18の直鎖状若しくは分枝鎖状のアル
キル基又はアルケニル基、炭素数8〜18のシクロアル
キル基、アリール基、アルキルアリール基又はアリール
アルキル基などが挙げられる。このようなものの具体例
としては2−エチルヘキシル基、n−オクチル基、ノニ
ル基、デシル基、ラウリル基、トリデシル基、パルミチ
ル基、ステアリル基、オレイル基、エイコシル基、ブチ
ルフェニル基、ノニルフェニル基などが挙げられる。該
7及びR8はたがいに同一であっても異なっていてもよ
い。また、m及びnはそれぞれそれらの和が4となるよ
うな正の整数である。本発明組成物においては、該
(B)成分のMoDTCは1種用いてもよいし、2種以
上を組み合わせて用いてもよく、またその含有量は、組
成物の全重量に基づき、モリブデン量として50〜20
00ppm、好ましくは100〜1000ppmになるように
選ばれる。モリブデン量が50ppm未満では十分な低摩
擦性が得られないし、2000ppmを超えるとその量の
割には摩擦特性の向上効果がみられない。本発明組成物
においては、(C)成分として、全塩基価10〜100
のカルシウムサリシレートが用いられる。該カルシウム
サリシレートとしては、例えば一般式

【0019】で表されるものが用いられる。前記一般式
[4]におけるR9は炭素数8〜23の直鎖状、分枝鎖
状又は環状のアルキル基であり、具体的にはオクチル
基、ノニル基、デシル基、ドデシル基、ペンタデシル
基、オクタデシル基、エイコシル基などが挙げられる。
該(C)成分のカルシウムサリシレートは1種用いても
よいし、2種以上を組み合わせて用いてもよく、また、
その含有量は組成物の全重量に基づき0.3〜2.5重量
%の範囲で選ばれる。この含有量が0.3重量%未満で
は十分な低摩擦性が得られないし、2.5重量%を超え
ると耐摩耗性が低下する上、灰分が増加し、好ましくな
い。本発明の潤滑油組成物には、本発明の目的が損なわ
れない範囲で、従来潤滑油に慣用されている各種添加
剤、例えば無灰清浄分散剤、粘度指数向上剤、流動点降
下剤、酸化防止剤、防錆剤、腐食防止剤、消泡剤、他の
耐摩耗剤や摩擦調整剤などを適宜添加することができ
る。
【0020】無灰清浄分散剤としては、例えばこはく酸
イミド系、こはく酸アミド系、ベンジルアミン系やその
ホウ素誘導体、エステル系のものなどが挙げられ、これ
らは、通常0.5〜7重量%の割合で使用される。粘度
指数向上剤としては、例えばポリメタクリレート系、ポ
リイソブチレン系、エチレン−プロピレン共重合体系、
スチレン−ブタジエン水添共重合体系などが挙げられ、
これらは、通常0.5〜35重量%の割合で使用され
る。酸化防止剤としては、例えばアルキル化ジフェニル
アミン、フェニル−α−ナフチルアミン、アルキル化−
α−ナフチルアミンなどのアミン系酸化防止剤、2,6
−ジ−t−ブチル−4−メチルフェノール、4,4'−メ
チレンビス(2,6−ジ−t−ブチルフェノール)など
のフェノール系酸化防止剤などが挙げられ、これは、通
常0.05〜2重量%の割合で使用される。防錆剤とし
ては、例えばアルケニルこはく酸やその部分エステルな
どが、腐食防止剤としては、例えばベンゾトリアゾール
やベンゾイミダゾールなどが、消泡剤としては、例えば
ジメチルポリシロキサンやポリアクリレートなどが挙げ
られ、これらは適宜添加することができる。

【実施例】次に実施例により本発明をさらに詳細に説明
するが、本発明はこれらの例によってなんら限定される
ものではない。なお、潤滑油組成物の摩擦係数は次のよ
うにして求めた。 (1)摩擦係数(μ) LFW−1試験により、270rpm、30kgf、120
℃、10分の条件で求めた。 実施例1〜8、比較例1〜5 基油として150N−1(100℃粘度5.7mm2/s、
芳香族成分4.1wt%、硫黄分11.0ppm、窒素分89.
0ppm)及び150N−2(100℃粘度5.5mm2/s、
芳香族成分0.5wt%、硫黄分0.5ppm、窒素分0.1pp
m)を用いた。前記基油を用い、第1表に示す組成の潤
滑油組成物を調製し、摩擦係数(μ)を求めた。その結
果を第1表に示す。

【発明の効果】本発明の潤滑油組成物は、従来のMoD
TCとりん酸エステルとの併用系に比べて、さらに優れ
た低摩擦性を有し、例えば内燃機関、自動変速機、緩衝
器、パワーステアリングなどの潤滑油、特に内燃機関用
潤滑油として好適に用いられる。

Claims (2)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】潤滑油基油に対し、組成物全重量に基づ
    き、(A)(イ)一般式 【化1】 (式中のR1、R2及びR3はそれぞれ水素原子又は炭素
    数3〜23の炭化水素基であり、それらはたがいに同一
    であっても異なっていてもよいが、その中の少なくとも
    1つは炭素数3〜23の炭化水素基である)で表される
    りん酸エステル、及び(ロ)一般式 【化2】 (式中のR4、R5及びR6はそれぞれ水素原子又は炭素
    数3〜23の炭化水素基であり、それらはたがいに同一
    であっても異なっていてもよいが、その中の少なくとも
    1つは炭素数3〜23の炭化水素基である)で表される
    亜りん酸エステルの中から選ばれた少なくとも1種を
    0.01〜0.8重量%、(B)炭素数8〜18の炭化水
    素基を有する硫化オキシモリブデンジチオカルバメート
    を、モリブデン量として50〜2000ppm、及び
    (C)全塩基価10〜100のカルシウムサリシレート
    を0.3〜2.5重量%含有させたことを特徴とする潤滑
    油組成物。
  2. 【請求項2】潤滑油基油が、芳香族成分3.0重量%以
    下、硫黄分50ppm以下及び窒素分50ppm以下の水素化
    分解油及び/又はワックス異性化油である請求項1記載
    の潤滑油組成物。
