Abstract

(57)【要約】 【目的】 磁気ヘッド位置決め時に、ベアリングからグ
リースが飛散するのを防ことによって、磁気ディスク，
磁気ヘッド損傷を低減し、磁気ディスク装置の信頼性の
向上をはかる。 【構成】 本発明の磁気ディスク装置は、位置決め機構
部のアームホルダ７，ベアリング８およびシャフト９で
囲まれた空間と磁気ディスク１の近傍との間を通じる通
路１１を設けると共に、この通路１１のベアリング８側
にはフィルタ１０が取付けられている。そして、磁気デ
ィスク１が回転すると、磁気ディスク１の周辺の空気圧
が負圧となり、空気はベアリング８の隙間からアームホ
ルダ７，ベアリング８およびシャフト９で囲まれた空間
を通り、フィルタ１０を経て通路１１を通って磁気ディ
スク１の近傍に流れ出る。このため、ベアリング８から
発生したオイルミストはフィルタ１０によって捕集され
る。

【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【産業上の利用分野】本発明は磁気ディスク装置に関
し、特に磁気ディスク装置に搭載する位置決め機構部の
軸受から発生するオイルミストを除去する空気清浄機構
に関する。
【０００２】
【従来の技術】従来の磁気ディスク装置は、図２に示す
ように、固定軸４に支持されるスピンドルハブ３にスペ
ーサリング２を介して積層し保持される複数の磁気ディ
スク１と、これらの磁気ディスク１にそれぞれ対向して
データの書込み・読出しを行う磁気ヘッド５と、磁気ヘ
ッド５を一端に固着するアーム６を保持するアームホル
ダ７と、アームホルダ７を支持しシャフト９ａに装着す
るベアリング（軸受）８を有し、磁気ヘッド５を磁気デ
ィスク１の所定のトラックに位置決めする位置決め機構
部と、これらの構成部品を取付けて密封収納するベース
１２ａと、カバー１３とを備えている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】上述した従来の磁気デ
ィスク装置は、磁気ヘッド５の位置決め時に位置決め機
構部のシャフト９ａに装着するベアリング８が回転する
ため、このベアリング８に塗布されているグリースが飛
散し、このオイルミストが磁気ディスク１や磁気ヘッド
５に付着して損傷を与える恐れがある。このため、磁気
ディスク装置の信頼性が低下するという欠点がある。

【課題を解決するための手段】本発明は、固定軸に支持
されるスピンドルハブにスペーサリングを介して積層し
保持される複数の磁気ディスクと、前記磁気ディスクに
対向しデータの書込み・読出しを行う磁気ヘッドと、前
記磁気ヘッドを一端に固着するアームを保持するアーム
ホルダと、前記アームホルダを支持しシャフトに装着す
る軸受を有する位置決め機構部とを備える磁気ディスク
装置において、前記アームホルダ，シャフトおよび軸受
で囲まれた空間と前記磁気ディスクの近傍とを結ぶ空気
通路と、前記空気通路の一端に設けたフィルタとを有し
ている。

【実施例】次に、本発明について図面を参照して説明す
る。
【０００６】図１は本発明の一実施例を示すブロック図
である。本実施例の磁気ディスク装置は、図１に示すよ
うに、固定軸４に支持されるスピンドルハブ３にスペー
サリング２を介して積層し保持される複数の磁気ディス
ク１と、これらの磁気ディスク１にそれぞれ対向してデ
ータの書込み・読出しを行う磁気ヘッド５と、磁気ヘッ
ド５を一端に固着するアーム６を保持するアームホルダ
７と、アームホルダ７を支持しシャフト９に装着するベ
アリング８を有し、磁気ヘッド５を磁気ディスク１の所
定のトラックに位置決めする位置決め機構部と、これら
の構成部品を取付けて密封収納するベース１２と、カバ
ー１３とを備えており、従来と同様の機能を有してい
る。
【０００７】そして、本発明の磁気ディスク装置では、
さらに、この位置決め機構部のアームホルダ７，ベアリ
ング８およびシャフト９で囲まれた空間と磁気ディスク
１の近傍との間を通じる通路１１を設けると共に、この
通路１１のベアリング８側にはフィルタ１０が取付けら
れている。
【０００８】この通路１１は空気の流れる通路であっ
て、磁気ディスク装置が作動して磁気ディスク１が駆動
機構（図示せず）により回転すると、磁気ディスク１の
周辺の空気圧が負圧となるため、通路１１の両端では圧
力差が生じる。従って、空気はベアリング８の隙間から
アームホルダ７，ベアリング８およびシャフト９で囲ま
れた空間を通り、すなわち、空気はベアリング８を介し
て外部から内部へ流れ込み、さらに、フィルタ１０を経
て通路１１を通って磁気ディスク１の近傍に流れ出る。
このため、ベアリング８から発生したオイルミストは位
置決め機構部の外部に飛散することなく、フィルタ１０
によって捕集される。

【発明の効果】以上説明したように、本発明の磁気ディ
スク装置は、位置決め機構部のベアリングの近傍に磁気
ディスクの回転に伴う圧力の差を利用して空気流を発生
させる通路を設けると共に、その通路の空気流入口にオ
イルミストを捕集するフィルタを備えることにより、ベ
アリングからのオイルミストの飛散を防ぐことができ、
従って、磁気ディスクおよび磁気ヘッドの損傷を低減で
きる。これにより、磁気ディスク装置の信頼性と向上が
はかれるという効果がある。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】 固定軸に支持されるスピンドルハブにス
    ペーサリングを介して積層し保持される複数の磁気ディ
    スクと、前記磁気ディスクに対向しデータの書込み・読
    出しを行う磁気ヘッドと、前記磁気ヘッドを一端に固着
    するアームを保持するアームホルダと、前記アームホル
    ダを支持しシャフトに装着する軸受を有する位置決め機
    構部とを備える磁気ディスク装置において、前記アーム
    ホルダ，シャフトおよび軸受で囲まれた空間と前記磁気
    ディスクの近傍とを結ぶ空気通路と、前記空気通路の一
    端に設けたフィルタを有することを特徴とする磁気ディ
    スク装置。
