Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 (産業上の利用分野) 本発明は、鋼の熱間圧延潤滑剤組成物に関し、基油ま
たは基グリースに特定の断熱剤を添加することにより、
被圧延材からワークロールへの熱伝達を停止し、ワーク
ロールのサーマルクラウン低減効果を有する改良された
潤滑剤組成物に関するものである。
(従来の技術) 従来、熱間圧延ではロールの保護のため、ロール冷却
水のみが使用されていたが、近年、圧延荷重の低減、ロ
ール摩耗減少のため圧延油が使用され多大な効果を収め
ている。
(発明が解決しようとする課題) ところが、今までの熱間圧延潤滑剤は、使用目的がワ
ークロール摩耗低減、ロール肌改善が主流であった。こ
れは、今まで圧延製品の品質に対する要求が比較的穏や
かなため、ワークロールのサーマルクラウンがあまり重
要視されなかったことによる。しかし、最近、製品の高
品質化が叫ばれ製品の品質に直接影響するワークロール
のサーマルクラウン低減が重要になって来た。
(課題を解決するための手段) 本発明は、基油または基グリースに断熱剤を加えたこ
とを特徴とする鋼の熱間圧延潤滑剤組成物に関するもの
で、特に、断熱剤として特定の二種類のもの、即ち、
(A)1200℃以下の温度で吸熱融解する無機化合物およ
び(B)1200℃以下の温度では融解または分解せず室温
での熱伝導率が0.01(cal/cm・S・℃)以下で摩擦係数
が0.7以下である無機粉体を組合せて組成物中に特定量
加えることで優れた断熱効果が得られるワークロールの
サーマルクラウン防止に有効であることを知見し、本発
明を達成するに至った。
本発明のにおいては基油または基グリースに(A)と
(B)との性状の異なる断熱剤を組合せて加え、その相
乗効果により断熱性を高めたものである。
グリースは油に較べて高温における流動性が少なく、
本来高温における断熱性が優れているものであるから、
基グリースに断熱剤(A)と(B)とを組合せて加えれ
ばその相乗効果と相まって最も優れた効果をあげる事が
できる。
また、本発明においては、基油または基グリースに断
熱剤(A)と(B)に加えて極圧剤および/または固体
潤滑剤を添加することにより潤滑性の向上を計ることが
出来た。
本発明の潤滑剤組成物には、さらに極圧剤および/ま
たは固体潤滑剤を添加することにより、基油ベースに比
べ、潤滑性、断熱性、貯蔵安定性、作業性、耐水洗性を
向上させることが出来た。
(作 用) ワークロールは被圧延材と接触することにより、ロー
ル表面温度が約800℃まで上昇する。一方、今までの熱
間圧延用潤滑剤の多くは、鉱油、油性剤、極圧添加剤お
よび固体潤滑剤の組み合せで構成されており、潤滑性に
対する考慮はなされていたが、断熱(圧延材からワーク
ロールへの熱伝達を防げる)に対する考慮がなされてい
なかった。
一方、特開昭60−6211号公報には、常圧下での融点が
1200℃以下、平均粒径が1μm以下で、鋳鉄、鋳鋼を含
む鉄鋼およびその他の金属に対する腐食性がなく、かつ
熱の不良導性物質として機能する無機化合物の微粉末を
市販の熱間圧延油(液体)に添加することによりロール
を保護できることが示されている。
しかし、上記公開特許公報に示されている基油は、市
販の熱間圧延油(液体)であり、本発明で使用するグリ
ースとは異なっている。又使用される粉体は1200℃以下
の温度で融解する無機化合物粉体であり、融解後は熱伝
達低下性が急減する。
そこで本発明においては、基油または基グリースに12
00℃以下の温度で吸熱融解する無機化合物と、1200℃以
下の温度では融解または分解しない無機粉体とを組合せ
て加え、これによりさらに断熱性を高めたものである。
すなわち、本発明で使用する断熱剤(A)は1200℃以
下の温度で吸熱、融解する無機化合物である縮合リン酸
塩、塩化ナトリウムおよびケイ酸ナトリウムからなる群
から選択され、断熱剤(B)は1200℃以下の温度では融
解または分解せず、かつ室温での熱伝導率が0.01(cal/
cm・S・℃)以下で摩擦係数が0.7如何である無機粉末
である窒化ケイ素、無定形炭素および二酸化ケイ素の各
粉末からなる群から選択され、かつ断熱剤(A)と断熱
剤(B)との組合せが縮合リン酸塩と窒化ケイ素、縮合
リン酸塩と無定形炭素、縮合リン酸塩と二酸化ケイ素、
塩化ナトリウムと窒化ケイ素、ケイ酸ナトリウムと窒化
ケイ素の各組合せからなる群から選択されるものであ
る。なお縮合リン酸塩は(KPO3n,(NaPO3n,K4P2O7
等の縮合リン酸塩が好適である。なお、ここで規定した
摩擦係数は、ピン・オン・ディスク法(直径11mmの円板
に直径3mmの先端平面状の棒を荷重1kgfで押し付け、速
度0.01(m/S)ですべらせる)で求めた。
又、断熱剤の平均粒径としては50μm以下であれば使
用可能であるが、ロールと被圧延材の間隙を考慮すると
平均粒径1μm以下がより好ましい。
ここで、(A)1200℃以下で吸熱融解する無機化合物
と(B)1200℃以下では融解又は分解せず熱伝導率が0.
01(cal/cm・S・℃)以下で摩擦係数が0.7以下である
無機粉体を併用した方が良い理由は明確にされた訳では
ないが、以下の様に考えている。すなわち、圧延時ロー
ルバイト内は高温高圧(600℃以上、2000kgf/cm2以上)
になる。その際断熱剤(A)は速やかに吸熱融解し被圧
延材からワークロールへの熱伝達を防げる。しかし、一
般に液体は粉体より熱伝導率が増大することが知られて
おり、断熱剤(A)の熱伝達低減効果も融解により急激
に低下すると考える。一方、断熱剤(B)は高温、高圧
下でも融解又は分解しないためローバイト中でも粉体を
存在しワークロールと被圧延材の接触を妨げ、かつ本粉
体自身が潤滑性を有していることよりローバイト内での
摩擦発熱を低減させるためと考える。
すなわち、断熱剤(A)は断熱性に優れているが、高
温で融解すると断熱性が急激に低下する。一方断熱剤
(B)は1200℃以下では融解または分解しないため広い
温度領域にわたり断熱性を有している。従って断熱剤
(A)と断熱剤(B)を特定の比率で共存させることに
より両効率が共に優れる潤滑剤を始めて知り得ることが
できたのである。
又、断熱剤の添加量は5〜50重量%が適当であり、よ
り好ましくは10〜40重量%である。5重量%未満では断
熱効果に乏しく、一方50重量%より多くなると潤滑剤の
粘性が大きくなり給脂性が損なわれてしまう。なお、断
熱剤中の(A),(B)の比は49:1〜1:49が適当である
が、より好ましくは19:1〜1:4である。この理由として
は、断熱剤(A)の比が小さくなるとロールバイト内で
の吸熱による断熱性が低下し、遂に、断熱剤(B)の比
が小さくなると高温断熱性が低下するためである。
本発明で使用可能な基油としては、スピンドル油,マ
シン油,ダイナモ油,モーター油,シリンダー油,ブラ
イトストック等の中質および重質鉱油、牛脂,ラード,
鯨油,パーム油,ヤシ油,ナタネ油,米ヌカ油,大豆油
等の動植物油脂、8〜22個の炭素原子を有する脂肪酸と
1価および多価アルコールとのエステル,α−オレフィ
ン,ポリブテン,シリコーン油,フッ素油等の合成油お
よびこれら混合油があげられる。
本発明で使用可能な基グリースとしては、リチウム石
ケングリース、カルシウム石ケングリース、ナトリウム
石ケングリース、アルミニウム石ケングリース、複合カ
ルシウム石ケングリース、ウレアグリース、ベントング
リース等があげられるが、耐熱性に優れるリチウム石ケ
ングリース、複合カルシウム石ケングリース、ウレアグ
リース、ベントングリースがより好ましい。
本発明で使用可能な固体潤滑剤としては、黒鉛(天
然,人造),二硫化モリブデン,雲母(天然,人造),
フッ化黒鉛、窒化ホウ素,軟質金属(金,銀,銅等),
滑石等の無機系固体潤滑剤および、PTFE(四フッ化エチ
レン),MCA(メラミンとシアヌル酸付加物),フタロシ
アニン等の有機系固体潤滑剤のいずれでも使用可能であ
るが、耐熱性及び高温での酸化安定性に優れかつ、被圧
延材への影響が少ない黒鉛(天然,人造)、雲母(天
然,人造)、窒化ホウ素、滑石等がより好ましい。固体
潤滑剤の添加量は0〜40重量%が適当であり、より好ま
しくは5〜15重量%である。なお、40重量%を超えると
潤滑剤の粘性が大きくなり給脂性が低下する。
本発明で使用可能な極圧添加剤としては、硫黄系化合
物、リン系化合物、塩素系化合物、有機金属化合物等が
あげられるが、発錆等の影響が少ない硫黄系化合物、リ
ン系化合物、有機金属化合物がより好ましい。極圧添加
剤の添加量は0〜20重量%が適当であり、より好ましく
は0.5〜10重量%である。添加量が20重量%を超える
と、腐食性が現われるとかグリースのミセル構造が不安
定になる等の副作用を生じる。
(実施例) 次に、本発明を実施例及び比較例により説明する。
実施例1〜16,比較例1〜13 基油、基グリース、断熱剤および極圧添加剤、固体潤
滑剤を第1表に示す配合率で配合して実施例1〜16、比
較例1〜13の潤滑剤を作った。これ等の組成物につき、
次に示す試験方法で性能を評価し、得た結果を第1表に
併記する。
(性能試験方法) A)E−12型熱間潤滑性能試験機による潤滑性能試験 E−12型熱間潤滑性能試験機の原理は、両端を固定後
誘導加熱した試験片を給油しながらロールではさみスリ
ップ潤滑し、各種潤滑剤の摩擦係数と耐焼付き性能を調
べ潤滑性の評価を行なうものである。
(T:軸トルク、R:ロール半径、W:負荷荷重) なお、試験機の概要及び試験条件は下記の通りであ
る。
イ)型式:2段式すべり潤滑試験機 ロ)ロール寸法:直径124mm×長さ80mm ハ)ロール材質:ハイクロムロール(Hs=70〜75) ニ)試験片材質:SS−41(縦20×横20×長さ580mm) ホ)試験片温度:400,600,800℃(自動温度調節) ヘ)速度:200rpm ト)圧下荷重:500〜3000kgf(500kgf毎に荷重を増大) チ)潤滑剤供給方法:ハケ塗り B)防錆性試験 イ)A)で用いた試験片を20×20×100(mm)の試験片
に切断加工する。
ロ)イ)の試験片を軒下につるし、2週間放置後の錆発
生の有無、を調べる。
発錆なし 発錆大 ○ × C)耐水洗性試験 イ)脱脂計量済みの鋼板(SPCC−SD,100×100×0.8(m
m))に潤滑剤30±3(mg)を均一に塗布する。
ロ)イ)の鋼板を下記条件にて水洗し、水洗後の重量を
求め、残油率を求める。
イ)ノズル型番:1/4 KBFO 865 ロ)吐出量:6.4/min(吐出圧:2.0kgf/cm2) ハ)水洗時間:5秒(水温:25℃) ニ)鋼板とノズルの距離:200mm D)金属間接触熱伝達比の測定 イ)試験片材質:WT−60(直径25mm×長さ50mm) ロ)温度:高温材780℃ 低温材22〜30℃ ハ)熱電対:CA(0.5mm)シース(取付位置1.5,3.0mm) ニ)断熱材:カオウール ホ)圧縮力:500kgf/cm2 ヘ)試料の充填方法及び厚さ: 第1図に示すように試料1に塗り付けた低温材2に高
温材3を押し付け、接触後の両試料の温度の時間的変化
から、各試料の接触界面温度と熱流速を逆算し、ニュー
トン(Newton)の冷却法則を拡大適用し、金属間熱伝達
係数を求め、更に、その係数を試料なしの場合と比較し
熱伝達比とする。
尚、第1図において4は断熱材、5は熱電対を示す。
E)実機圧延機でのロール摩耗量比 F5スタンド(6スタンドミル)入側上ワークロールに
エアスプレーノズル8個(20ml/分・ノズル)を取り付
け、ニッケールグレンロールを用い一般材、約300トン
を圧延しロール摩耗量を測定し、現用油剤との摩耗量比
較を行う。
(発明の効果) 本発明の効果を要約すれば以下の通りである。
基油または基グリースに断熱剤(A)および/または
断熱剤(B)を添加したことにより、被圧延材からワー
クロールへの熱伝達を抑制出来る。従って、熱によるワ
ークロールの損傷およびワークロールのサーマルクラウ
ンを減少出来る。

Claims (2)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】基油または基グリースに、断熱剤(A)と
    断熱剤(B)との組合せを加えた鋼の熱間圧延潤滑剤組
    成物において、断熱剤(A)が1200℃以下の温度で吸
    熱、融解する無機化合物である縮合リン酸塩、塩化ナト
    リウムおよびケイ酸ナトリウムからなる群から選択さ
    れ、断熱剤(B)が1200℃以下の温度では融解または分
    解せず、かつ室温での熱伝導率が0.01(cal/cm・S・
    ℃)以下で摩擦係数が0.7以下である無機粉末である窒
    化ケイ素、無定形炭素および二酸化ケイ素の各粉末から
    なる群から選択され、かつ断熱剤(A)と断熱剤(B)
    との組合せが縮合リン酸塩と窒化ケイ素、縮合リン酸塩
    と無定形炭素、縮合リン酸塩と二酸化ケイ素、塩化ナト
    リウムと窒化ケイ素およびケイ酸ナトリウムと窒化ケイ
    素の各組合せからなる群から選択され、かつ断熱剤中の
    (A)(B)の重量比が49:1〜1:49であり、断熱剤の添
    加量が5〜50重量%であることを特徴とする鋼の熱間圧
    延潤滑剤組成物。
  2. 【請求項2】基油または基グリースに、請求項1記載の
    断熱剤(A)および(B)を加え、更に極圧添加剤およ
    び/または固体潤滑剤を加えたことを特徴とする請求項
    1記載の鋼の熱間圧延潤滑剤組成物。
