Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:2-Silylmethylbutadiene derivatives of formula I (R1WR3 are alkyl, aryl, aralkyl).
EXAMPLE: 2-Trimethylsilyl-1,3-butadiene.
USE: Reagents for introducing isoprene units, which is used for synthesizing terpenes useful as perfume and drug. For example, the reaction with carboxylic halide gives ketone or alcohol with isoprene units.
PREPARATION: Chloroprene is made to react with silylmethyl Grignard reagent of formula II (X is halogen), thus giving the compound of formula I. The reaction is effected preferably in a solvent as ether in the presence of a catalyst of Ni at 0W30°C.
