Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate the extrusion even with a high-melting binder, and to obtain a solid writing material, e.g. color pencil lead, by dispersing a wax in microcapsules in a lead to suppress the deterioration of strength in extending the wax.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A wax, e.g. carnauba wax, is enclosed in (B) a gelatin-acacia to give microcapsules, which are dispersed in a binder and extruded to form the desired writing mateial. For example, 10 parts by wt. of an acrylonitrile-styrene resin is incorporated with 40 parts by wt. of talc, 10 parts by wt. of calcium stearate, 8 parts by wt. of a yellow pigment, and 16 parts by wt. of microcapsules wherein 10 parts by wt. of carnauba wax is enclosed with gelatin-acacia to give granules, which are extruded from a screw extruder into the desired writing material.
