Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance the display effect of the host-guest effect liquid crystal display panel and make the same easier to see by providing the two electrodes which are mutually isolated by the frost-worked insulation areas to upper and lower substrates respectively.
CONSTITUTION: A transparent electrode 22 is formed on a glass substrate 21 and photo resist 24 is coated and baked thereon except the portions 23 to be removed of the electrode 22. Next, hydrofluoric acid base etching solution is coated over the entire surface and etching is done. The substrate is then rinsed, whereby the frosted portions 26 of the glass substrate are formed under the removed portions 23. The remained photo resist 24 is removed with release agent for exclusive use, whereby the two electrodes isolated by the fine gaps 26 being the insulation areas are obtained. For example, the shaded parts 5 of the figure a correspond to the fine gaps 26. The display electrode 1 and non-display electrode 3 of the substrate 10; the electrode 4 of the substrate 11 opposing to the lead electrode of the electrode 1 on the substrate 10 and the counter electrode 6 other than the electrode 4 are respectively isolated. In this way, colored displaying on the colorless background is performed distinctly by applying separate voltages to the display part electrode and non-display part electrode.
