Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the falling of getter metal by forming a carbonization layer previously on the cathode prior to fixing the cathode to first and second cathode terminal board then brazing the getter metal.
CONSTITUTION: Carbonized surface layer is formed previously on spiral cathode 7 provided between first cathode terminal board 3 secured to inner end of first stem lead 1 and second cathode terminal board 6 secured to inner end of second stem lead 4. Then getter metals 12, 13 composed of titanium, zirconium, tantalum, etc. is brased between first and second cathode terminal boards 3, 6. Consequently the getter metal is never covered with carbonized layer thereby the falling of getter metal from cathode terminal board can be prevented.
