Abstract

PURPOSE: To purify exhaust gas a efficiently and at low cost by a method wherein exhaust gas and a detergent solution are stirred to form a mixed gas of gas and liquid, and the gas and the liquid are separated from the mixed gas by means of separating plates.
CONSTITUTION: A stirrer 7 is rotated by means of a spouting force of exhaust gas which is introduced into a stirring chamber 4, thereby a detergent solution is stirred. Most of solids such as carbon particles present in the exhaust gas is recovered by the detergent solution, and at the same time the detergent solution and the exhaust gas turn into fog by stirring. As a result, harmful materials such as CO, CO2, NOx in the exhaust gas are absorbed by the detergent solution. The mixed gas of gas and liquid is introduced through the upper opening of an isolating wall 3 into a separating chamber 5. The mixed gas is collided with baffle plates 11 to remove the liquid component of the mixed gas. The resulting separated gas component is supplied through holes 10 of the plates 11 to the right end part of the separating chamber 5. The purified exhaust gas is discharged through a ventilation path 13 to the outside. The liquid which is collided with the plates 11 is returned to a detergent solution chamber.
