Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve the improvement in efficiency and branching characteristics by making use of branching characteristics of an acousto-optic element. CONSTITUTION:An acousto-optic element 7 composed of glass, TeO2, PbMoO4 or the like of good transmission characteristics in the 8000Angstrom band being the oscillation wavelength of GaAs base semiconductor lasers is disposed between a transmission line fiber 9 and photo detecting fibers F1-Fn. With this arrangement, the beam LB as the light wavelength multiple signal emitted divergently from the transmission line fiber 9 is paralleled by a collimate lens 3, after which the beams enter the acousto-optic element 7, where they are diffracted at the Bragg diffraction angles determined by the frequencies, etc. of the driving signal S inputted from a power amplifier 8 and are branched according to their wavelength components to become branched beams LB1-LBn which are then entered to the photo detecting fibers F1-Fn through a focusing lens 5.
