Abstract
PURPOSE: A method of the regeneration of an ineffective ion exchange resin in which an ion exchange resin is effectively utilized and an increase in treatment is contempleted by introducing a regenerant into the bottom of an ion exchange tower.
CONSTITUTION: A resin tower 1 is charged with ion exchange resins 2 and 2'. A number of vertical collectors 4 is inserted in such a manner that an exhaust port 3 consisting of many slits is positioned in the neighborhood of the boundary of the ion exchange resins 2 and 2'. The collectos 4 are connected to one end of an exhaust tube 5 and the other end thereof is connected to a recovery tank 6. A regenerated waste liquid effluent tube 7 is connected to the exhaust tube 5. After water is withdrawn until the position of the exhaust port 3, a regenerant such as acid, alkali, etc. is supplied in an ascending flow to a resin layer through an influent tube 16 for the regenerant below the resin tower, and simultaneously air is introduced through an air supply tube 13 above the resin tower.
