Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare polybutadiene derivative which is hardened in a short time at a relatively low temperature and provides a hardened resin or a coating with excellent flexibility and impact resistance by reacting monoalkanolamine with specific maleinized polybutadiene.
CONSTITUTION: To 100g of butadiene (co)polymer with number-average molecular wt. 300W10,000 containing 30W80% of 1,2-linkage, 0.05W0.5mol of maleic anhydride is added to obtain maleinized polybutadiene and this maleinized polybutadiene and monoalkanolamine of which an amount is 0.8W5 mole times to succinic anhydride group of maleic anhydride adduct are reacted at 50W200°C in the presence or absence of a solvent to obtain hydroxyl group-containing butadiene (co)polymer having hydroxylalkyl group bound to polymer chain through succinimide linkage.
