Abstract

PURPOSE: To protect a jig against abrasion and damage by a method wherein a work is transferred from a dummy plate to a jig by operating a shutter after the work is once inserted into a dummy plate portion, in an automatic inserting device for inserting a cylindrical work into a jig automatically.
CONSTITUTION: An X-Y table portion 10 loaded thereon with a jig 2 is first moved properly in the direction of X-axis, and works 1 are sequentially inserted into the holes 7 of the first row at a dummy plate portion 6 through a chute 5. Then, the table portion 10 is moved by one pitch of the holes 3 of the jig 2 in the direction of Y-axis, the table portion 10 is moved again in the direction of X-axis, and the works 1 are inserted into the holes 7 of the next row at the dummy plate portion 6. After the works 1 are inserted into all the holes 7 of the dummy plate portion 6, a shutter portion 8 is operated, the work 1 are inserted into the holes 3 of the jig 2 through the holes 9 of the shutter portion 8, thereby inserting the work 1 into the jig 2 in a stable condition and at high speed, without wear or damage of the jig 2.
