Abstract

PURPOSE: To accurately join a plurality of bodies superposed with plate glass in- between by heating the bodies and applying a pressure after softening and melting the glass to prevent the glass from being damaged.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of bodies 1, 2 superposed with plate glass 3 in-between are mounted on sample holder 11, and thickness regulating spacers 4a, 4b, pressing plate 14 and pressure receiving block 13 are set on both sides of glass 3, face 11a of holder 11 and face 11c of holder 11, respectively. Bodies 1, 2 are slightly pressed in the direction of face 11b of holder 11. By rotating micrometer head 20, spindle 20' is brought into contact with plate spring 19 set on L-form block 17 with spring receiving block 18 in-between, and holder 11 is put into furnace core tube A to melt glass 3. Head 20 is then rotated to deform spring 19, and the pressure is transmitted to holder 11 through pressure transmitting rod 26 to press glass 3. The thickness of glass 3 is transmitted to electromicrometer head 36 through detecting plate 32, and while controlling the thickness bodies 1, 2 are joined.
