Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a filter plate with reduced heat deformation and high strength used in a filter machine such as a filter press or the like by a method wherein a substrate plate of a filter plate is formed by stacking polypropylene resin sheet containing glass fibers therein and a picture framelike peripheral flange portion is formed, thereafter press molding is carried out.
CONSTITUTION: In the first procedure, a polypropylene resin is impregnated in continuous glass fibers to prepare a polypropylene resin sheet contaning continuous glass fibers and, in the second procedure, this sheet is heated. In the third procedure, 2W5 pieces of this heated sheets are stacked to make a substrate plate of a filter plate and, in the fourth procedure, a sheet only comprising a polypropylene resin is covered on both surfaces of said substrate plate of a filter plate to form a picture framelike peripheral flange portion. In the fifth procedure, cold press molding is carried out at a room temp. a filter plate 1 made by the above described procedures has a substrate plate 2 of a filter plate having both surfaces covered with a sheet 4 and a thick picture frame like peripheral flange portions 5 are provided on an outer surface of the sheet 4 as well as recessed grooves 6 for flowing a filtrate downwardly are provided on an outer surface of a middle portion.
