Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent a toner from being reverse transferred to a photoreceptor at the separating time by applying a voltage of the same polarity as that of a transfer paper to a separating and conveying member constituted of a conductive material.
CONSTITUTION: The toner image of positive charging transferred to the transfer paper 3 having been applied with a negative voltage by a transfer charger 4 maintains the state that it is surely held on the transfer paper 3 without being reverse transferred to a photosensitive drum 1 because a conductor belt 5 is applied with the negative voltage at the time when the transfer paper contacts the belt 5 and separates therefrom. Since the voltage of the same polarity as that of the transfer paper is applied to the conductive separating and conveying member, the toner transferred on the transfer paper is surely prevented from being reverse transferred to the photoreceptor at the separating and from causing white on the transfer paper.
