Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently carry out submerged granulation at a low cost by placing a granulation zone and a solid-liquid separation zone within a vessel equipped with a plurality of rotary bodies and connected with a premixing zone, which is connected to a feed pipe and provided with a rotary body.
CONSTITUTION: A coal particle, water, a fuel oil, a granulating agent and, if necessary, an alkali agent for pH adjustment are supplied to premixing zone 7 and sent through bottom clearance 20 of partition 8 to granulation zone 12, to be mixed under agitation by rotary body 6. The granulation zone is equipped with a plurality of rotary bodies 10, each of which rotates at about 300rpm, forming a down flow. In the granulation zone 12, a coal/water slurry, the fuel oil and the granularing agent are sufficiently mixed with each other to form a pellet and to separate an ash. The formed pellet is carried to solid-liquid separator 13 by bottom scraper 11 having scraping blade 22. In discharge zone 13, the pellet is bucketed by net-like bucket 14; simultaneously dehydrated and then discharged. Ash-contg. waste water is withdrawn through an outlet behind screen 16.
