Abstract
PURPOSE: Water-containing coal is dehydrated by heating it together with a solvent or with a combination thereof with the dehydrated slurry obtained by the present process at low temperature, whereby high dehydration rate can be achieved, the corrosion of the facilities is inhibited and higher heat recovery is effected.
CONSTITUTION: Water-containing coal is mixed with a solvent or a mixed slurry 1 thereof with the dehydrated slurry obtained by the present process in the tank 2, preheated to about 70W130°C in the preheater 3, then introduced into the gas- liquid separator 4, preferably kept at 20W600mmHg and lower than 100°C to separat into the gas phase containing steam and the dehydrated slurry. An example of water-containing coal is smokless coal, bituminous coal or brown coal containing more than 10wt% water. The solvent is coal dry-distillation tar, petroleum heavy oil or an oil formed in the coal liquefaction process.
