Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a rheumatoid factor adsorbent containing, as an active component, immunoglobulin G denaturated by contacting with an organic solvent, and to provide a safe and sure treating apparatus for collagen disease, composed of a container having an inlet and an outlet of fluid and containing said adsorbent.
CONSTITUTION: Denaturated substance containing immunoglobulin G can be obtained by contacting and denaturating an immunoglobulin G-containing substance with an organic solvent such as formamide, acetamide, etc. The objective adsorbent for rheumatoid factor is prepared pref. by crosslinking and insolubilizing the denaturated substance. The adsorbent is packed in a container having an inlet and an outlet of fluid to obtain the rheumatoid factor removing apparatus. By passing the body fluid (blood, plasma, etc.) of a patient of collagen disease through the apparatus, and returning the cleaned blood fluid to the patient, the rheumatoid factor which is supposed to a cause of the disease can be removed, and the treatment of collagen disease can be carried out with simple method.
