CONSTITUTION:Orientation treatment for orienting liquid crystal molecules in an arrow direction is applied on an upper orientation film 6 formed on the surface of the upper substrate 1 of a liquid crystal display device, and orientation treatment for orienting liquid crystal molecules in the direction orthogonal with the orientation direction of the film 6 is applied on the lower orientation film 7 formed on the surface of a lower substrate 2. At this time, a differently oriented region 7b of a prescribed shape is left in the prescribed position of the film 7, and orientation treatment for orienting liquid crystal molecules in the direction parallel (but in an exactly opposite direction) with the orientation direction of the film 6 is applied in this region.
