CONSTITUTION:Orientation treatment for orienting liquid crystal molecules 8 in the direction orthogonal to the orientation direction of the liquid crystal molecules of a lower oriented film 7 formed on the surface of a lower substrate 2 is applied in the regions 6a corresponding to the actual display patterns of an upper oriented film 6 formed on the surface of the upper substrate 1 of a liquid crystal display device, and orientation treatment for orienting the molecules 8 in parallel (the direction is exactly opposite) with the orientation direction of the liquid crystal molecules of the film 7 is applied in the regions 6b other than the regions 6a.
