Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I(A is an aminoacyl group of an N- acyl substituted amino acid; Z is H or OH).
EXAMPLE: 5'-O-(N-Benzyloxycarbonylalanyl)-2'-deoxy-5-flurouridine.
USE: An antimalignant tumor agent, antiviral agent, immunological inhibior or an intermediate therefore.
PROCESS: A nucleoside, e.g. 2'-deoxy-5-fluorouridine, of formula II is reacted with an N-acylamino acid, preferably in an anhydrous solvent, e.g. pyridine, in the presence of a condensing agent, e.g. triisopropylbenzene sulfonyl chloride, at 40°C or below to give the exemplified compound.
