Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明はフエンス、門扉等に使用する格子パイ
プなど、外周に合成樹脂層を被覆したパイプの切
断端面へのキヤツプの取付の方法に関し、筒状本
体13の内周に全周に亙つて耐熱性合成樹脂より
なるパツキン材14を張設してなる治具5の内周
に、外周が熱可塑性合成樹脂層1で被覆されたパ
イプ2の上端部を挿入して、該合成樹脂層1の外
周面をパツキン材14の内周面に密着させ、下面
の周部に面取り傾斜面6を施した熱可塑性合成樹
脂よりなる円板状のキヤツプ3をパイプ2の上端
に載置して、超音波融着用ホーン7によりキヤツ
プ3の上面に圧力を加えつつ超音波振動を与える
ことによりパイプ2の合成樹脂層1にキヤツプ3
を融着することを特徴とするパイプへのキヤツプ
取付方法に係るものである。
フエンスや門扉等に使用する格子パイプなど、
外周に合成樹脂層1を被覆した金属製のパイプ2
にあつて、断面端面のパイプ2の防錆や安全性、
美感のため及びパイプ2内に雨水が浸入するのを
防止するため、パイプ2の端部開口に従来は第1
図に示すようにキヤツプ3を取付けていた。すな
わち、第1図aのものはキヤツプ3の外周の筒部
9をパイプ2の合成樹脂層1の外周に嵌合させて
キヤツプ3の取付けを行なうようにしたものであ
り、第1図bのものは鋸歯状の凹凸10を有する
嵌合部11をパイプ2の内周に圧入することによ
りキヤツプ3の取付けを行なうようにしたもので
ある。しかしながら第1図aのものではキヤツプ
3の筒部9と合成樹脂層1との間から毛細管現象
などで雨水がパイプ2内に浸入することがありパ
イプ2の端面や内周面に錆びが発生することを完
全には防止できず、また経時によりキヤツプ3は
パイプ2より脱落するおそれがあり、一方、第1
図bのものも同様に雨水の浸入を完全に防止する
ことはできず、経時により脱落するおそれがあつ
た。
そこで、第2図a,bに示すように合成樹脂製
のキヤツプ3をパイプ2の上端面に載せて超音波
融着用ホーン7によつてキヤツプ3とパイプ2の
合成樹脂層1の端面とを融着せしめることによ
り、キヤツプ3の脱落や雨水の浸入を完全に防止
するようにすることを検討したが、このものでは
超音波融着用ホーン7による発熱でキヤツプ3の
外周部分の溶融樹脂が合成樹脂層1の外周で垂
れ、この垂れ部分12によつて外観を損ねてしま
うものであつた。
本発明は上記の点に鑑みてなされたものであつ
て、雨水の浸入を完全に遮断した状態で脱落する
おそれなく強固にキヤツプを取付けることがで
き、しかも外観を損うようなことなく超音波融着
でキヤツプの取付けを行なうことができるパイプ
へのキヤツプ取付方法を提供することを目的とす
る。
以下本発明を実施例により詳述する。治具5は
筒状本体13とその内周に全周に亘つて取付けら
れる、適当な弾力性を有しかつ樹脂との剥離性、
耐熱性、断熱性に優れたテフロン等の樹脂で形成
されたパツキン材14とによつて構成されるもの
で、この治具5は左右二つ割り構造に形成してあ
る。また金属製のパイプ2の外周にはポリ塩化ビ
ニルなど熱可塑性の合成樹脂層1が被覆してあ
る。
このパイプ2の切断端部にキヤツプ3を取付け
るにあたつては以下のようにして行なう。すなわ
ち、先ず第3図に示すようにパイプ2の上部を治
具5内に挿着する。このときパツキン材14の内
径とパイプ2の合成樹脂層1の外径とは略同一寸
法に設定してあつて、パイプ2を治具5内に挿着
した際には合成樹脂層1の外周面にパツキン材1
4の内周面が全周に亘つて密接するようにしてあ
る。またパイプ2は上端が治具5の中段部に位置
するように治具5内に挿入するものである。次で
治具5のパツキン材14の内周にてパイプ2の上
端にポリ塩化ビニルなど熱可塑性の合成樹脂で形
成したキヤツプ3をセツトする。ここでキヤツプ
3の外径はパツキン材14の内径とほぼ等しい寸
法に形成してあり、またキヤツプ3の下面の外周
部には全周に亘つて内方へ向け下り傾斜する面取
り傾斜面6が施してある。このキヤツプ3をパイ
プ2の上端にセツトした際には面取り傾斜面6が
パイプ2の上端に当接し、面取り傾斜面6と治具
5のパツキン材14内周との間に樹脂溜り空所8
が形成されることになる。こののち、外径をパツ
キン材14の内径と略等しく形成した超音波融着
用ホーン7をパツキン材14の内周に上方より挿
入して超音波融着用ホーン7でキヤツプ3に下方
への押圧力を加えつつ超音波振動を与える。する
とこの振動エネルギーによつてキヤツプ3とパイ
プ2との接触面が発熱してキヤツプ3の樹脂が溶
融し、さらに超音波融着用ホーン7の押圧力によ
つてキヤツプ3が下方へ押圧されることによりキ
ヤツプ3は合成樹脂層1とも接触し超音波融着用
ホーン7による振動エネルギーでキヤツプ3と合
成樹脂層との接触面が発熱してキヤツプ3の樹脂
と合成樹脂層1とが溶融し合う。このようにして
キヤツプ3と合成樹脂層1とが融着されることに
なる。このとき合成樹脂層1の外周に治具5のパ
ツキン材14の内周が密接していることに加え、
キヤツプ3の溶融された樹脂は樹脂溜り空所8内
に逃げることができるため、溶融樹脂が合成樹脂
層1とパツキン材14との間に浸入することを防
止でき、溶融樹脂が合成樹脂層1の外側へバリと
して出ることが防止されるものである。また超音
波融着用ホーン7による加圧でキヤツプ3の中央
部はパイプ2の内周にめり込むように嵌入され
る。このようにして第4図に示すように、キヤツ
プ3が融着で合成樹脂層1と一体化すると共にキ
ヤツプ3の下面中央部が嵌合突部4としてパイプ
2の内周に嵌合した状態でキヤツプ3のパイプ2
への取付けが行なわれるものである。尚、パツキ
ン材14は樹脂溜り空所8内に浸入する溶融樹脂
が整形される前に冷却固化されることを防止する
役割も有しており、そこで上記したようにパツキ
ン材14は断熱性、耐熱性を有する材料で形成し
たものである。
上述のように本発明にあつては、キヤツプに下
方への押圧力を加えつつ超音波融着用ホーンによ
つてキヤツプをパイプの合成樹脂層に融着するよ
うにしたので、キヤツプと合成樹脂層との融着に
よつてパイプの開口は完全にシールされることに
なり、パイプ内への雨水の浸入を完全にシヤツト
アウトすることができるものであり、しかもこの
ようにキヤツプに下方への押圧力を加えているこ
とによりキヤツプの下部が溶融する際にキヤツプ
の中央部は嵌合突部としてパイプの内周に嵌合す
ることになつてこの嵌合力と上記キヤツプと合成
樹脂層との融着を合わせた力によつてキヤツプは
パイプに強固に取付けられ、経時によつてもキヤ
ツプがパイプより脱落してしまうようなおそれが
ないものである。さらにパイプの上端部を筒状の
治具の内周に挿入して上端部の合成樹脂層の外周
面を治具の内周に全周に亘つて密着させ、下面の
周部に面取り傾斜面を施した合成樹脂製のキヤツ
プを治具内周にてパイプの上端に配して面取り傾
斜面と治具内周との間に樹脂溜り空所を形成した
状態で超音波融着用ホーンにてキヤツプに超音波
振動を与えるようにしたので、合成樹脂層の外周
に治具の内周が密接していることに加え、キヤツ
プの溶融された樹脂は樹脂溜り空所内に逃げるこ
とができるため、溶融樹脂が合成樹脂層と治具と
の間に浸入することを防止でき、溶融樹脂が合成
樹脂層の外側へバリとして出ることが防止されて
外観を損うことなく高周波融着でキヤツプをパイ
プに取付けることができるものであり、また治具
の内面に耐熱性合成樹脂よりなるパツキン材を張
設したので、溶融樹脂を密着させて整形するまで
の間、治具との接触面における冷却固化を防止
し、それによつて接合部の跡を残すことなくパイ
プ表面を良好に仕上げることができるものであ
る。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 1 筒状本体の内周に全周に亙つて耐熱性合成樹
    脂よりなるパツキン材を張設してなる治具の内周
    に、外周が熱可塑性合成樹脂層で被覆されたパイ
    プの上端部を挿入して、該合成樹脂層の外周面を
    パツキン材の内周面に密着させ、下面の周部に面
    取り傾斜面を施した熱可塑性合成樹脂よりなる円
    板状のキヤツプをパイプの上端に載置して、超音
    波融着用ホーンによりキヤツプの上面に圧力を加
    えつつ超音波振動を与えることによりパイプの合
    成樹脂層にキヤツプを融着することを特徴とする
    パイプへのキヤツプの取付方法。
