The present invention relates to a vibration damping material using sludge generated from wastewater treatment facilities, and particularly to a vibration damping material that is heat-fused to the floor of an automobile or the like in the form of a sheet to exhibit a vibration damping effect. In recent years, from the viewpoint of pollution prevention, pollution prevention equipment such as integrated wastewater treatment facilities has become widespread in industry at a remarkable rate. On the other hand, after wastewater treatment, sludge accumulated in a settling tank or dust generated from a dust collector, etc.
Although a small amount of waste is reused, most of it is disposed of as is or in a pressed state in landfills, which reduces the space available for disposal and causes secondary pollution as the waste is blown away by the wind during transportation or after being dumped. This has become a big problem because of the possibility of this happening. On the other hand, as one of the anti-vibration treatments for automobiles, vibration-damping materials made of a bituminous base material to which inorganic substances and synthetic resins are added are used especially for the inside of doors, the inside of ceilings, and floors. There is nothing worth seeing yet in terms of sex. As a result of extensive research in view of the actual situation, the present inventors have found that a vibration damping material containing a bituminous base material as a main component is produced by using powder and granules obtained by burning the waste generated from the wastewater treatment facility and having a specific particle size. The inventors have discovered that a vibration damping material with excellent vibration damping properties and sealing properties can be obtained by adding mica. The vibration damping material of the present invention is widely used for the purpose of absorbing resonance in automobiles, steel doors, etc.
Asbestos, talc, and bituminous base material, which is the main component,
Fillers such as synthetic resin and rubber are added, and porous powder obtained by burning wastewater treatment sludge in an incinerator and mica of a specific particle size are added to this, and this is kneaded with a kneader etc., and then extruded or processed. It is calendered into a sheet and applied to the damped member using heat fusion or adhesive. An important characteristic of damping materials is the loss coefficient (denoted by η), which indicates the degree of damping. Generally, one end of a test piece made in the form of a strip is fixed and excited, and the attenuation curve at the resonance point is determined. It can be calculated using the one-point support (cantilever beam) resonance method (specified in the automobile standard JASO M306-70).The damping material is required to have η = 0.05 or more, and conventional commercially available products Then, η=0.05~ at room temperature
It is about 0.08. Of the wastes mentioned above, wastewater treatment sludge is difficult to put to practical use as it is because it contains a lot of water, is relatively large, and has a bad odor, but it is heated to 700°C or more in an incinerator such as a rotary kiln.
By firing at 800°C, it is possible to obtain a powdery material (hereinafter referred to as kiln ash) that is brittle but extremely porous and has a small bulk specific gravity. This kiln ash is odorless, has a bulk specific gravity of 0.5 to 0.7, and has an almost average particle size ranging from 40 to 1400μ (center particle size 420μ).
There is almost no elution of harmful heavy metals. Furthermore, since it is porous, the oil absorption amount is 40 to 45 mg/100g, which is larger than that of general inorganic fillers, and is effective in preventing the bituminous base material from flowing out at high temperatures. As mentioned above, the kiln ash used in the present invention can of course have a particle size in the range of 40 to 1,400μ, but if kneading with the bituminous base material is taken into consideration, A range of ~1000μ is desirable, and a range of 300μ to 700μ is most suitable.
Further, the amount of kiln ash added to the bituminous base material can be in the range of 15 parts by weight to 60 parts by weight, particularly 25 parts by weight to 50 parts by weight, per 100 parts by weight of the bituminous base material. Are suitable. If the amount of kiln ash added to the bituminous base material is 15 parts by weight or less, the amount of other fillers added will be large and the merits of using kiln ash will be diminished, and if the amount of kiln ash added to the bituminous base material is 60 parts by weight or more If the amount of addition is large, not only will the strength as a vibration damping material be inferior, but the desired vibration damping effect will not be obtained. In addition, the mica powder used in the present invention includes:
A wide variety of materials can be selected from muscovite (muscovite), phlogopite (phlogopite), synthetic chlorophlogopite, etc., but it is important to maintain a flake shape to make the damping effect due to contact friction with kiln ash and internal shear stress noticeable. is important, so the grain size and strength are such that the crystals do not break when kneaded with the bituminous base material or processed as a vibration damping material, and the crystals must have a particle size and strength that will not break during kneading with the bituminous base material or processing as a vibration damping material, and crystals in the temperature range where they will be melted and bonded to the vibration damping material as a vibration damping material. It is desirable to choose one that does not allow water to escape. The particle size of the mica powder selected above must be in the range of 5 to 50 meshes, and a particularly desirable range is 10 to 40 meshes. Particle size of mica powder is 5
If it is less than mesh, it will not be possible to obtain the specified value of the vibration damping property which is the synergistic effect of added kiln ash and mica, and the elastic modulus, strength and thermal properties as a vibration damping material will be unsatisfactory. It may happen,
When the number of meshes exceeds 50, it is difficult to secure satisfactory values for vibration isolation and sealing performance even if other fillers are used. Furthermore, the amount of mica powder added to the bituminous base material can be in the range of 5 parts by weight to 30 parts by weight, particularly 10 parts by weight to 100 parts by weight of the bituminous base material. 20 parts by weight is suitable. If the amount added is less than 5 parts by weight, the amount of other fillers added like kiln ash will be too large and the desired vibration damping effect will not be obtained.
If the amount exceeds 1 part by weight, the strength as a vibration damping material will be poor, and the vibration damping effect will not improve even if added. The bituminous base material and filler used in the present invention are:
Conventionally commonly used materials, such as straight asphalt, blown asphalt, talc, calcium carbonate, clay, diatomaceous earth, asbestos, synthetic resin, and nylon fiber, can be appropriately selected and used. According to the present invention, the vibration damping effect and thermal conductivity of a vibration damping material can be improved by mixing powder and granules obtained from wastewater treatment sludge and mica of a specific particle size with a bituminous base material. Moreover, it is a useful method of using industrial waste from the viewpoint of pollution prevention and resource conservation. Hereinafter, the vibration damping material of the present invention will be specifically explained using Examples and Comparative Examples, but it should be noted that the present invention is not limited only to the following Examples. Example 40 parts by weight of straight asphalt is heated and melted, and 10 parts by weight of talc and heavy calcium carbonate are added to this.
10 parts by weight, 5 parts by weight of recycled rubber, 5 parts by weight of asbestos, 10 parts by weight of synthetic resin, 7 parts by weight of muscovite (average particle size: 25 mesh), and kiln ash (average particle size: 600μ)
After adding 13 parts by weight and uniformly dispersing and mixing, the mixture was formed into a sheet with a thickness of 1.5 m/m using a calender roll. Next, this sheet-like material was made into an automobile standard.
The damping material of the present invention was obtained by cutting into a predetermined shape based on JASO M306-70. The kiln ash used in this example was activated sludge generated from a wastewater treatment plant in an automobile manufacturing factory and incinerated in a rotary kiln, and did not contain waste materials containing toxic metal components such as sludge and waste grease. First, its general properties were as follows.

[Table] As is clear from the above table, the loss coefficient (vibration damping effect) of the vibration damping material (example) according to the present invention is dramatically improved compared to other comparative examples and commercially available damping materials. This is thought to be largely due to the synergistic effect between kiln ash and mica. In addition, there was no difference in other test items such as thermal conductivity, shear adhesive strength, and handling workability compared to commercially available damping materials.
