Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本発明は、液晶表示装置の構造に係り、特に熱圧着接続
片を使用した装置に好適な高信頼性な接続に関する。
〔従来の技術〕
第２図に示す如く、液晶表示素子１とプリント基板２と
の間にスペーサ６を介在させて液晶表示素子１をプリン
ト基板２に搭載し、液晶表示素子１とプリント基板２と
の間の電気的接続は、接続片３を用いて接続し、この接
続片３をその上から接続片押え４で押えている（特公昭
５３−２９４４０号）。
この接続片３は、第３図に示す如くポリエステルなどか
らなる。絶縁基材フィルム３１上に導電体部分３２を印
刷または蒸着により形成し、さらに熱圧着材３３が形成
されている。前記接続片押え４は、第４図に示す如くフ
レーム５によりプリント基板２に固定されている。
〔発明が解決しようとする問題点〕
上記従来技術では、熱圧着接続片３を使用する装置にお
いて比較的実装空間に自由度が有り剥れ防止のための接
続片押え４が熱圧着接続片３を液晶素子１のガラス基板
の端面に直接押しつけなかったためガラス基板端面で熱
圧着接続片３の導電部を切断することはなかったが、高
密度実装となり、空間に制約が生ずると上記導電の切断
という問題が発生する。
本発明の目的は上記不良を排除することにある。
〔問題点を解決するための手段〕
上記目的は、熱圧着接続片３を押える接続片押え４がガ
ラス基板端面に対向する部分に逃げ溝を設はガラス基板
端面に接続片押え４が当らないようにすることにより達
成される。
〔作用〕
接続片押えの構造がガラス基板端面に対向する部分に逃
げ溝を作りガラス基板端面と熱圧着接続片の間に空間を
生ぜしぬ力がかからない構造とすることにより接続片の
導電体部分に力がかからず断線の発生を防止することが
出来る。
〔実施例〕
以下、本発明の一実施例を第１図により説明する。接続
片押え４が液晶素子１の基板ガラス端面部分に対向する
位置に逃げ溝１０を設はフレーム５による圧力がガラス
基板端面に直接かからない様にする。このことによりガ
ラス基板端面での接続片３の導電体部分３２の切断がな
くなり信頼性が向上する。
〔発明の効果〕
本発明によればガラス基板端面と接続片との間に圧力が
かからず接続片の導電体部分に傷を付けることがなく接
続の信頼性が向上する効果が有る。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. １、絶縁フィルム上に導電体部分と絶縁体部分が交互に
    形成され、絶縁体部分には熱加圧による接着できる材料
    が塗布されている接続片を使用し、液晶表示素子とこれ
    を駆動するＬＳＩが実装されたプリント基板とを接続す
    る液晶表示装置において、前記接続片の圧着部の剥れ防
    止用押えに、液晶表示素子のガラス基板端面に対向する
    位置に逃げ溝を設けたことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。
