Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a superconductor compsn. capable of providing a dense ceramic at lower sintering temp. by completing decomposition of carbonates at a lower temp. by using a constituent consisting of a specified compsn. contg. Ca, Sm, Cu, and O. CONSTITUTION:The title compsn. is an oxide superconductor compsn. expressed by the formula I wherein 0.3<=x<=0.85. When the compsn. is sintered at 800-900 deg.C, a material having high density and high critical temp. is obtd. Although a conventional Ba-Y-Cu-O type compsn. provides a sintered product having ca. 80% relative density when it is precalcined at 900 deg.C for 12hr then sintered at 1000 deg.C, a compsn. of the formula II provides a superior ceramic having ca. 92% relative density when it is precalcined at 830 deg.C for 12hr and sintered at 900 deg.C. The ceramic is confirmed to be a superconductor having high critical temp. by a measurement of resistance. The compsn. of this compsn. provides a dense ceramic having high critical temp. at a lower sintering temp. than conventional compsns., accordingly, the compsn. has high practicality as a compsn. capable of providing a superconducting material.
