Abstract

본 발명은 질화물 개량제를 사용하여 위스커(Whisker)보강 알루미나 복합체를 제조하기 위한 무압 소결방법(pressureless sintering process) 및 복합체에 관한 것이다. 위스커는 10이하의 애스펙트비(aspect ratio) 까지 분쇄된다. 소결단계중에 소결로내에서 본체표면이 대기 직접 노출되는 것을 방지하기 위하여 소결공정동안에 탄소 함유 재료로 그린예빕ㄴ체(green preform)를 둘러싼다.

Claims (6)

  1. 적어도 약 95%의 이론상 밀도를 가지며 고온 균일 프레싱에 의해 고밀도화하면 적어도 약 98% 이론상 밀도를 얻기에 충분한 높은 폐쇄기공의 밀도 및 농도를 가지는 소결된 세라믹 복합체를 제공하기 위하여, 최대 이론치의 약 60% 내지 약 70%범위내의 밀도를 가지며 기본적으로 알루미나 및 약 4%까지의 소결 보조제로 이루어진 기질과, 3 내지 10범위내의 평균 애스펙트 비를 가지는 10 내지 25중량%의 단결정 위스커와, 기본적으로 실리콘 나이트라이드 또는 알루미늄 나이트라이드 또는 그 혼합물로 구성된 약 2 내지 7.5중량%의 질화물 개량제를 포함하는 혼합물로부터 만들어진 예비본체를 대기압에서 소결하는 것을 포함하는 소결 복합체 제조방법.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 질소를 함유하는 가스 및 탄화수소를 함유한 정화가스를 사용하여 소결하는 것을 특징으로 하는 소결 복합체 제조방법.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 탄소함유 재료로 둘러싼 예비본체를 사용하여 소결하는 것을 특징으로 하는 소결 복합체 제조방법.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 약 5 내지 9범위내의 평균 애스펙트 비를 가지는 단결정 위스커를 함유한 예비본체를 소결하는 것을 특징으로 하는 소결 복합체 제조방법.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, 적어도 이론상 약 95%의 밀도를 가지며 고온 균일 프레싱에 의해 고밀도화 하면 적어도 약 98%의 이론상 밀도를 얻기에 충분한 높은 폐쇄기공의 밀도 및 농도를 가지는 소결 세라믹 복합체를 제공하기 위해, 예비존체가 소결로내의 조건에 직접 노출되는 것을 막는 탄소 함유 재료로 둘러싸인 상기 예비본체를 상기 소결로내에서 대기압에서 소결하는 것을 포함하며, 상기 예비본체가 최대 이론치의 약60% 내지 약 70%범위내의 밀도를 가지며 기본적으로 알루미나 및 최고 약 4중량%의 소결 보조제로 이루어진 기질과, 약 10내지 25중량%의 단결정 위스커와, 기본적으로 실리콘 나이트라이드 또는 알루미늄 나이트라이드 또는 그 혼합물로 구성된 약 2 내지 7.5중량%의 질화물 개량제를 포함하는 혼합물로 부터 만들어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 소결 복합체 제조방법.
