Abstract
Brenselcelle omfattende en membran-elektrodesammenstilling med ei anodeelektrode-flate; ei anodeplate tilstøtende elektrodeflata til nevnte membran-elektrodesammenstilling og som er koblet til denne ved hjelp av en tetningspakning. Tetningspakningen, elektrodeflata og anodeplata definerer til sammen et fluidinneholdende volum for tilførsel av anodefluid til elektrodeflata. Et sjikt av porøst diffusjonsmateriale er anordnet i det fluidinneholdende volumet og har i det minste ett plenum definert mellom i det minste én lateral kant av sjiktet av diffusjonsmateriale og tetningspakningen. Fluid for tilførsel til ei aktiv overflate av membran-elektrodesammenstillingen kan tilføres av plenumet og ved diffusjon gjennom diffusjonsmaterialet til en slik grad at fluidstrømningskanaler i anodeplata ikke er nødvendig.
