Det beskrives en biosensor for måling av analytt i et fluid, hvilken biosensor omfatter et substratlag hvor det er anordnet minst en elektrode, en katode, en anode og et nytt avstandsmateriale.Avstandsmaterialet ifølge oppfinnelsen omfatter et varmforseglbart organisk lag som dekker i det minste en del av anoden og bestemmer i det minste én kant av anoden. Avstandsmaterialet har et utstanset hull og begrenser en kavitet eller brønn for mottak av kjemi. Det beskrives også en fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av slike biosensorer.
