Abstract

La presente se refiere a un proceso de produccion de gelatinas y recuperacion del cromo del apelambrado de pieles curtidas, que contienen Cr 3+ en un ciclo continuo. El proceso objeto de la presente consiste en una hidrolisis ácida y sucesivas fases de separacion de los diversos productos, de los cuales se obtienen tres componentes principales: gelatina del colágeno, la sal curtidora de cromo, empleada para el curtido de las pieles, y el hidrolizante. Las gelatinas obtenidas pueden utilizarse de manera util como adhesivos industriales en diferentes sectores que abarcan desde la industria de abrasivos hasta la fabricacion de cartulinas, encuadernacion, industria de colorantes y yesos hasta la produccion de fosforos; las sales de cromo obtenidas pueden ser recuperadas y reutilizadas en la industria de la curtiembre, a la vez que el hidrolizante puede volverse a someter a un ciclo.
