Abstract

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf einen Kolben (1) einer Brennkraftmaschine und eine Verwendung desselben für einen Otto- Motor mit externer Gemischbildung. Ein Kolbenmantel (1.1) kann eine Mittelachse M aufweisend und einen den Kolbenmantel (1.1) nach oben begrenzenden Kolbenboden (2) mit einem Durchmesser D. Der Kolbenboden (2) kann aus einem Kolbenbodenrand (2.1) der Breite b und einer Kolbenmulde (2.2) mit einer Tiefe t gebildet sein. Die Kolbenmulde (2.2) kann als Topfmulde ausgebildet sein und hat einen Kolbenmuldenboden (3) sowie eine daran angrenzende Kolbenmuldenwand (4) mit einem maximalen Durchmesser d4. Die Kolbenmulde (2.2) kann einen symmetrisch zur Mittelachse M aus­ gerichteten Öffnungsquerschnitt A mit einem minimalen Durchmesser da aufweist, der kleiner ist als der Durchmesser d4. Durch den verkleinerten Durchmesser da kann eine als Nase ausgebildete Stromungsabriss-Kante (5) im Bereich des Öffnungsquerschnitts A gebildet sein. Die Nase (5) kann in radialer Richtung über die Kolbenmuldenwand (4) nach innen vorstehen.
