Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines kobalthaltigen Azofarbstoffes. Es wurde gefunden, dass man zu einem neuen, wertvollen kobalthaltigen Azofarbstoff gelangt, wenn man auf den Monoazofarbstoff der Formel

kobaltabgebende Mittel derart einwirken lässt, dass ein kobalthaltiger Azofarbstoff entsteht, der zwei Monoazofarbstoffmoleküle an ein Kobaltatom komplex gebunden enthält.
Der neue kobalthaltige Farbstoff bildet ein wasserlösliches Pulver, das Wolle aus schwach alkalischem, neutralem bis schwach saurem Bade in blaustichig grauen Tönen von sehr guter Lichteehtheit färbt.
Der als Ausgangsstoff dienende, der oben- stehenden Formel entsprechende Monoazofarb- stoff kann durch Kupplung des 2-Aminonaph- thalins mit nach an sieh bekannten Methoden, z. B. mittels Salzsäure und Natriu mnitrit di- azotiertem 4-Chlor-2-amino-l-oxybenzol.5-sLd- fonsäureamid hergestellt werden.
Die Behandlung mit den kobaltabgebenden Mitteln erfolgt gemäss vorliegendem Verfah ren in der Weise, dass ein kobalthaltiger Farb stoff entsteht, der pro Molekül Farbstoff weniger als ein Atom Kobalt in komplexer Bindung enthält. Demgemäss führt mann die Metallisierung zweckmässig mit solchen kobalt- abgebenden Mitteln und nach solchen Metho den durch, welche erfahrungsgemäss komplexe Kobaltverbindungen dieser Zusammensetzung liefern.
Es empfiehlt sieh im allgemeinen, auf ein Molekül eines Farbstoffes weniger als ein, mindestens aber ein halbes Atom Kobalt züz verwenden und/oder die Metallisierung in sehwach saurem bis alkalischem Medium aus zuführen. Als kobaltabgebende Mittel verwen det man zweckmässig Kobaltsalze, wie Kobalt- . sulfat .oder Kobaltacetat, gegebenenfalls auch frisch gefälltes Kobalthydroxyd.
Beispiel: 22,25 Teile 4-Chlor-2-a.mino-l-oxybenzol-5- sulionsäureamid werden in 100 Teilen Wasser und 17,5 Teilen 30o/oiger Salzsäure bei 60 bis 65 gelöst und die abgekühlte Lösung mit 6,9 Teilen Natriumnitrit bei 0 bis 5 diazotiert. Zu der Dia.zosuspension lässt mann eine heisse Lösung von 15,
7 Teilen ss-Naphthylamin in 250 Teilen Wasser und 18,5 Teilen 30o/oiger Salzsäure einlaufen. Man kuppelt bei 35 bis 40 . Nach 12 Stunden ist die Kupplung be endet. Man erwärmt auf 90 bis 95 und fil triert den gebildeten Farbstoff ab. Der Filter kuchen wird mit heissem Wasser gewaschen.
Die erhaltene Farbstoffpaste wird in 500 Teilen Wasser bei 80 bis 85 verrührt und durch Zugabe von 40 Teilen 30o/oiger Na triumhydroxydl'ösung gelöst. Man gibt eine Lösung von 15,4 Teilen kristallisiertem Kobalt sulfat in 30 Teilen Wasser zu und rührt 30 :Minuten bei 80 'bis 85 . Nach dieser Zeit ist die Komplexbildung beendet. Der Farbstoff wird durch Zugabe von Natriumehlorid ab geschieden, filtriert und getrocknet.

The new cobalt-containing dye forms a water-soluble powder that dyes wool from weakly alkaline, neutral to weakly acidic baths in bluish gray shades of very good lightfastness.
The monoazo dye which serves as the starting material and corresponds to the above formula can be prepared by coupling the 2-aminonaphthalene using methods known per se, e.g. B. 4-chloro-2-amino-1-oxybenzene.5-sLd- fonsäureamid can be prepared by means of hydrochloric acid and sodium mnitrite.
The treatment with the cobalt-releasing agents takes place according to the present method in such a way that a cobalt-containing dye is produced which contains less than one atom of cobalt in complex bond per molecule of dye. Accordingly, the metallization is expediently carried out with such cobalt-releasing agents and by such methods which, experience has shown, give complex cobalt compounds of this composition.
It generally recommends using less than one, but at least half an atom of cobalt in addition to a molecule of a dye and / or performing the metallization in a weakly acidic to alkaline medium. Cobalt salts, such as cobalt salts, are expediently used as cobalt-releasing agents. sulfate or cobalt acetate, if necessary also freshly precipitated cobalt hydroxide.
