Description
Verfahren zur- Herstellung eines kobalthaltigen Azofarbatoffes. Es wurde gefunden, dass man zu einem neuen, wertvollen, kobalthaltigen Azofarbstoff gelangt, wenn man<B>auf</B> den Monoazofarbstoff der Formel

kobaltabgebende Mittel derart einwirken lässt, class ein kobalthaltiger Azofarbstoff entsteht,
der zwei Monoazofarbstoffmoleküle an ein l@obaltatom komplex gebunden enthält. Der neue Farbstoff bildet ein wasserlös liches Pulver, das Wolle aus schwach alkali schem, neutralem bis essigsaurem Bade in orangebraunen Tönen färbt. Der als Ausgangsstoff dienende, der oben stehenden Formel entsprechende Monoazo- iarbstoff kann durch Kupplung des 1-Phenyl- 3-methyl-5-pyrazolon-3'-sulfonsäureamids mit nach an sich bekannten Methoden, z.
B. mit , tels Salzsäure und Natriumnitrit, diazotier- tem 4,6-Dichlor-2-amino-l-oxybenzol herge stellt werden.
Die Behandlung mit den kobaltabgebenden Mitteln erfolgt gemäss vorliegendem Verfah ren in der Weise, dass ein kobalthaltiger Farb stoff entsteht, der pro Molekül Farbstoff weniger als ein Atom Kobalt in komplexer Bindung enthält. Demgemäss führt man die Metallisierung zweckmässig mit solchen ko- 13altabgebenden Mitteln und nach solchen Me thoden durch, welche erfahrungsgemäss kom plexe Kobaltverbindungen dieser Zusammen setzung liefern.
Es empfiehlt sich im allge meinen, auf ein Molekül eines Farbstoffes weniger als ein, aber mindestens 1/9 Atom Kobalt zu verwenden und/oder die Metallisie- rung in schwach saurem bis alkalischem AZe- dium auszuführen.
Als kobaltabgebende Mit tel verwendet man zweckmässig komplexe Kobaltverbindungen aliphatischer Oxycarbon- säuren oder einfache Kobaltsalze wie Kobalt sulfat oder Kobaltacetat, gegebenenfalls auch frisch gefälltes Kobalthydroxyd.
<I>Beispiel:</I> 4,44 Teile des Farbstoffes aus diazotier tem 4,6-Dichlor-2-amino-l-oxybenzol und 1-Phenyl- 3-methyl-5-pyrazolon-3'-sulfonsäureamid wer den in 150 Teilen Wasser und 2,6 Teilen 30o/oiger Natriumhydroxydlösung gelöst und nach Zugabe von 30 Teilen einer Kobaltsul- fatlösung mit einem Kobaltgehalt von 1,05% 30 Minuten bei 80 bis 85 verrührt.
Nach die ser Zeit ist die Komplexbildung beendet. Man filtriert und dampft das Filtrat im Vakuum ein.

The monoazo dye used as the starting material and corresponding to the above formula can be prepared by coupling the 1-phenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone-3'-sulfonic acid amide using methods known per se, eg.

The treatment with the cobalt-releasing agents takes place according to the present method in such a way that a cobalt-containing dye is produced which contains less than one atom of cobalt in complex bond per molecule of dye. Accordingly, the metallization is expediently carried out using such carbon-releasing agents and using methods which, experience has shown, give complex cobalt compounds of this composition.
It is generally advisable to use less than one, but at least 1/9 atom of cobalt on a molecule of a dye and / or to carry out the metallization in weakly acidic to alkaline AZedium.
Complex cobalt compounds of aliphatic oxycarboxylic acids or simple cobalt salts such as cobalt sulfate or cobalt acetate, optionally also freshly precipitated cobalt hydroxide, are expediently used as cobalt-releasing agents.
<I> Example: </I> 4.44 parts of the dye from diazotized 4,6-dichloro-2-amino-1-oxybenzene and 1-phenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone-3'-sulfonic acid amide who dissolved in 150 parts of water and 2.6 parts of 30% sodium hydroxide solution and, after the addition of 30 parts of a cobalt sulfate solution with a cobalt content of 1.05%, stirred at 80 to 85 minutes for 30 minutes.
