【発明の詳細な説明】

【産業上の利用分野】本発明は耐熱性PET(ポリエチ
レンテレフタレ−ト)容器の改良に関する。
【0002】
【従来の技術】従来よりPET容器は、その2軸延伸成
形によって発揮される優れた強度、透明性等の諸物性の
ために、特に飲料等の分野で多用されている。しかしな
がら、このPET容器は耐熱性に問題があり、ジュ−ス
等の高温殺菌後の熱液を充填したり、天然果汁入り炭酸
飲料のように充填後殺菌のために、高温シャワ−や高温
浸浴等の高温処理を受けた後のキャッピング時に、特に
口部が変形しやすいという欠点を有している。
【0003】この様な問題の解決のために、このように
変形しやすい口部については,PET樹脂の中間層とし
て耐熱性樹脂材(例えば、Uポリマ−、ポリカ−ボネ−
ト、ポリアミド、EVA共重合体等)層を内在させる技
術が多数開示されている。
【0004】例えば、特開平1−118420号、特開
平1−124545号、特願平2−204218号、欧
州特許公開第0415109A1号は、インサ−ト法と
呼ばれるもので、予め上記のような耐熱性樹脂材からな
るインサ−トピ−スを製造し、PET樹脂でプリフォ−
ムを成形する時に容器口部に埋め込む。
【0005】又、実開昭63−194115号、実開平
2−34414号、特開昭63−307054号、特開
昭64−9145号は、コ−インジェクション(CO−
INJECTION)法と呼ばれるもので、プリフォ−
ム成形時に上記のような耐熱性樹脂とPET樹脂を共に
射出し、プリフォ−ムの口部あるいはプリフォ−ムの全
体に両樹脂の多層構造を形成する。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】前述の従来技術におい
て使用される耐熱性樹脂は、1)耐熱温度が低い、2)
吸湿劣化し易い(湿度の影響下で耐熱性が低下し座屈変
形する)、3)曲げ弾性率が小さい等の問題が残ってい
る。充填に際して、高温処理を受ける耐熱性PET容器
については、これら3つの物性のすべてが優れたものが
要求されるのであるが、従来技術において、開示されて
いる耐熱性樹脂は、これらの物性を満足するものではな
い。

【課題を解決するための手段】本発明は、耐熱性樹脂材
料として、アクリル樹脂、メタクリル樹脂(メタクリル
酸メチル)、メタクリル樹脂共重合体(例えば、変性メ
タクリル樹脂、メタクリルイミド樹脂等)、ポリスルホ
ン樹脂、及び結晶性PET樹脂のうちいずれか1種の樹
脂を採用することによって上記の問題を解決することが
出来る。本発明の耐熱性樹脂材は、層構造として、本発
明の容器全体に、又は口部のみに、その全部又は1部を
内在させることができる。口部のみに入れる場合には、
コ−インジェクション法又はインサ−ト法のいずれの方

【0008】即ち、図1及び図2は、インサ−ト法で成
形された容器1を示し、図2に示される形状の前記本発
明の耐熱性樹脂からなるインサ−トピ−ス2をPET樹
脂によるプリフォ−ム3成形時に容器口部4に埋め込む
。図1の例では、ねじ部5ではPET樹脂が内外層に耐
熱性樹脂が中間層となる多層構造を形成し、ねじ部5の
下方よりサポ−トリング6までの間は耐熱性樹脂が外層
になるようにインサ−トピ−ス2は配置され、ねじ部5
位置のインサ−トピ−ス壁面にはPET樹脂の流路とな
る透孔7が形成されているが、特願平2−204218
号や欧州特許公開第045109A1号に開示されるよ
うに、インサ−トピ−ス2は容器口部の天面8又はその
近傍からサポ−トリング6に至るまでの容器口部4がP
ET樹脂と多層構造となるならば、その形状・配置は適
宜変更できる。又、容器胴部9は口部と同様の多層構造
としない場合には、必要に応じてヒ−トセットされる。
【0009】次に、図3乃至図5は、コ−インジェクシ
ョン法で製造された容器1を示し、プリフォ−ム3成形
時に、PET樹脂と耐熱性樹脂を適当なタイミングで共
に射出し、サポ−トリング6まで含めた容器口部4を耐
熱性樹脂層10とPET樹脂層11の5層構造にし、容
器胴部9と容器底部12にPET樹脂層11を内外層と
し耐熱性樹脂を中間層とした3層構造(図3)、容器胴
部9と容器底部12をPET樹脂層11の単一層(図4
)、容器胴部9をPET樹脂層10の単一層にそして容
器底部12をPET樹脂層11を内外層とし耐熱性樹脂
を中間層とした3層構造(図5)にしている。要するに
、コ−インジェクション法でも、容器口部の天面8又は
その近傍からサポ−トリング6に至るまでの容器口部4
が少なくともPET樹脂と耐熱性樹脂の多層構造(2層
以上)になっていることが必要で、容器胴部9と容器底
部12の層構造は適宜変更できる。

【作用】本発明では、PET樹脂層と共に容器口部を構
成する耐熱性樹脂層として、アクリル樹脂、メタクリル
樹脂、メタクリル樹脂共重合体、ポリスルホン樹脂、結
晶性PET樹脂のいずれか1種を使ったので、以下の作
用効果を奏効する。 1)耐熱性が高く且つ吸湿しても充填時の高温処理に十
分に耐えるため、口部寸法の安定性がよく、開栓トルク
の低下を生じない。 2)曲げ弾性率が高く、座屈強度が大きいため、充填時
に充填ヘッドやキャッピングによる垂直荷重を受けた際
に座屈変形を生じない。 3)上記1)2)により充填時のトラブルが大巾に低下
する。

【実施例】
(実施例1)予め変性メタクリル樹脂約2.7grを射
出成形して得られたインサ−トピ−スを(詳細は特願平
2−204218号、欧州特許公開第0415109A
1参照)プリフォ−ム成形用の口部成形型に嵌め込み、
保持し、コア型及びキャビテイ型で型締めした後、PE
T樹脂からなる瓶体形成樹脂(約56.1gr)をゲ−
トから、キャビティ内に射出し、口部に変性メタクリル
樹脂を層構造として持つ、プリフォ−ムを先ず形成する
。この様にして得られたプリフォ−ムを常法に従って2
軸延伸ブロ−成形して図1の本発明の耐熱性PET容器
1(約58.8gr:内容量1500cc)を得た。
【0012】この容器の吸湿下の座屈強度を調べるため
に下記の試験を行なった。実施例1で得られた容器を3
8℃、相対湿度約90%の雰囲気中で、約1ケ月保持し
て加湿する。この容器に温水を充填し(この時の温水は
充填完了後に85℃になる様設定してある。)、充填機
にて約2分間保持後、サポ−トリングを治具で保持し、
口部天面8に約250Kgの荷重を約2分間かける。こ
の時の口部の垂直方向の変形量を測定する。口部の円周
方向4等分点の測定値の平均値を変形量として示す。測
定部位は、図1に示されるように、口部天面8からねじ
部5下端までの長さAと、口部天面8からサポ−トリン
グ6下端までの長さBの位置の夫々の円周方向4等分点
である。この結果をこの4等分点の測定値の平均値にて
実施例1として下記表に示す。
【0013】(実施例2)予めポリスルホン樹脂約2.
7grを射出成形したインサ−トピ−スを用いる以外は
実施例1と全く同様にして容器を製造し、得られた容器
を試験し、その結果を実施例2として下記表に示す。
【0014】(実施例3)予めメタクリルイミド樹脂約
2.7grを射出成形したインサ−トピ−スを用いる以
外は、実施例1と全く同様にして容器を製造し、得られ
た容器を試験し、その結果を実施例3Aとして下記表に
示す。
【0015】尚、上記の実施例1乃至3の試験では、イ
ンサ−トピ−スを予熱乾燥せずに用いたが、実施例3で
は、他の試験としてインサ−トピ−スを口部成型型に嵌
め込み直前に100℃で10秒間予熱乾燥し、上記実施
例と同様の座屈強度試験を行った。その結果を実施例3
Bとして下記表に示す。

(比較例1)予めUポリマ−約2.7grを射出成形し
たインサ−トピ−スを用いる以外は、実施例1と全く同
様にして容器を製造し、得られた容器を試験し、その結
果を比較例1として下記表に示す。

【効果】上記表に示されるように、本発明の実施例1乃
至3の容器では、比較例1及び2に比べて、荷重による
容器口部の変形量が顕著に小さく、容器口部の座屈強度
が大きいことが確認できる。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】  PET樹脂と耐熱性樹脂を多層構造に
    した耐熱性PET容器において、該耐熱性樹脂が、メタ
    クリル樹脂、メタクリル樹脂共重合体、アクリル樹脂、
    ポリスルホン樹脂、結晶性PET樹脂のいずれか一つか
    ら成る事を特徴とする耐熱性PET容器。
  2. 【請求項2】  容器口部が、請求項1に記載の特徴を
    もつ耐熱性PET容器。
  3. 【請求項3】  容器口部の層構造を形成する耐熱性樹
    脂がインサ−トピ−スから成る事を特徴とする請求項2
    に記載する耐熱性PET容器。
